i think the only regret in the game is the match engine,it's cool but u need to imagine what happens from the little and the unchanged information u get from the text,it's not realistic to have the same commentary on everygame. i think a 2D map which indicates the players positions and the ball is a great idea alongside a better text engine as long as it gives u an idea about what's happeneing and where in the field it's happening,i'm against a 3D match engine b/c until now there isn't an even decent 3D football game in the market, what do u think?

I agree with you. It's apparently very hard to produce a 3d engine, which gives a realistic picture of a soccer game and the players performances. FA Premier League Manager 2000 does a decent attempt, but fails in many areas. The way players play, doesn't reflect their capabilities very well.
The match engine in CM3/99-00 is the most realistic, but an overview of all the players positions would be an improvement. I don't like the way results are printet one by one in the bottom of the screen. A list with all the games being played at the same time, where highlights and goalscorers were shown would be better.
Appart from that:

I would like to see some additions to the match screens as long as it doesnt look silly. A top view of the field with a ping pong ball bouncing about would look dumb.

How about better updates on what the other team is doing tactically during a match?

How about your team captain shouts things to the bench about what he sees first hand on the field?

I'd also like to be able to mark other league games that are played at the same time as my teams matches...maybe the assistant manager can update you with scores. It would be great if my Arsenal players would raise their game if they knew Man Utd had won 2-1.

All of this is just nit-picking really...the game is phenominal. Its the most accurate simulation of a sport thats its scary sometimes. Has there ever been a program that simulated day to day life in the sport world better than this?? I dont think so.
