AMD or INTEL

I recently bought a new system and was asking same question.

New AMD thunderbird chips outperform the new P4 chips across the board and are alot cheaper. I know the new instructions for P4 aren't being used yet but from what I've read there's a good chance that alot of developers wont bother.

With Nvidia recently announcing their new motherboard, which is based on the technology they designed for the X-Box(also miles infront of any other motherboards), for AMD chipsets only it looks like AMD is the processor of choice for gamers right now. It seems to keep up witht the P4 in high end graphics programs aswell.

Anyway my opinion is if you pay the extra for an Intel chip your buying peace of mind. This basically translates into us paying for their advertising.
Go for AMD they're just as quick, cheaper and partnered with Nvidia.
