Messi was so nervous last night like he didn't score in 10 matches. He should take it easy a little bit.

He was man of the match.

that's my point, when you are playing well and your team is one goal ahead, why be nervous? acting desperate for goals can result emotional acts and unnecessarily injuries.

I hope it was clear.

Yeah he had a good match but destroy it's easer than create, especially if you are playing with most of your players in the box, that's why i rate him MoM. Messi's play at first goal is just brilliant.

shame on you, you retired a guy few days back ;).

Hahaha, Nesta is the best defender ever for me and I think I wrote that in the post where I retired him :), I just think that for the majority of the season Mexes should play as Nesta neither has the gas nor should be pushed week in week out to play as then he's all burned out for when Milan really need him, and that's big games. The same goes for Seedorf and Bommel (although Van Bommel out of these three maybe has the most energy to play.

For me Messi didn't do anything out of the ordinary, one dribble (i'm exaggerating of course) doesn't make him MoM, If you're looking like that than Pato should be the MoM too (I'm not saying that he is though) cause his is even more out of nothing and ballsy also made a great impact on the game.

Man of the match for me is the person that affects the outcome of the match the most, and without Nesta Milan would have easily got a couple of goals more in the net. (I'm not taking anything away from T.Silva though)
The fact that pages such as Goal.com rate only commercially highest rated players as MoM is simply because most of these people reading such pages are in fact children, and they only see such players on the pitch and only vote for such players on the polls, and that's understandable, kids need heroes, but do they have a sofisticated approach to watching football, and can they admire the hard work of responsible players without which the whole strategy wouldn't work, no. So yes, for me the man of the match is still Alessandro Nesta, no offense.

what was up with the ref today? whistling a number of soft calls against Milan, and then waving play-on when the incidents went the other way ... the one that was especially frustrating was when Cassano turned the ball away from the falling defender in the box, only for the whistle to inexplicably stop what would have been another assist ...

speaking of which, Fantantonio should have had 3 assists today, not just one ... shame Pato's and especially Aquilani's finishing didn't oblige ...

no taking away the plaudits from Il Matador Cavani: terrific finishing, capped by a pretty ridiculous reflex volley for the hat trick ...

I agree Xifio, there where some stupid calls from the ref today, the most irritating for me was not playing advantage when Milan where attacking following the foul on Aquilani, Pato was left 1-on-1 with the keeper! That's what makes a good referee! Decisions!!!

Other than that all I'm going to say is Cavani is a beast!

How do I never see Cavani play for Uruguay? Time for that bum Forlan to step aside.
he was injured early in the Copa ... but they won anyway, so the issue never surfaced ... however, if Cavani isn't an automatic starter now, it'll be scandalous ...

- Abbiati is a decent shot-stopper, but a keeper must dive HANDS FIRST across the goal line, NOT FEET FIRST ... could have blocked Pedro at the far post ... if he had done so and still conceded the goal, fair enough ... but that is an alarming technical flaw!
goddam Abbiati proving me right ... literally dropped the ball on that one ...

on the bright side, I'm happy for Stephan ... the chemistry between him and Cassano reminds me of Cassano-Totti (Y) ...

first win of the season for Milan, courtesy of a cross that happened to fly into the top corner ... but considering the injury crisis that's hit the squad, a bit of positive luck is overdue ... and it's hard not be happy for that smooth cat, Clarence Seedorf ...

Cassano and El Shaarawy should both have added to the score, but at least they forced the keeper to make sharp stops to keep the ball out ... Fantantonio had a stonewall penalty denied after being taken down in the box ... the ref may have been unsighted, but the linesman surely saw that the defender scythed him down without getting anywhere near the ball ...

good to see Inzaghi is fit enough to feature in late cameos ...

the decision not to register him for the Champions League seems inexplicable ... it's September, and he's back -- what were they thinking leaving Super Pippo out?!

I'm going to assume that's either a joke or you not having watched a single one of Inzaghi's games.

He makes Mario Gomez look like Ronaldinho. He also eliminated Bayern one year.
