I hope this doesn't make you sound stupid but make sure the sound card is seated properly in the slot. Take it out and put it in again. Graphics card not seated properly caused some problems(could still run though), so i thought you mught have the same problem with your sound card. Try it since you are in the desperate stage now. Anyway, borrow your friend's sound card and try to see if it works.

AAAAArgh - got my soundcard but now game won't run at all!

Hi guys. I've got all the updated drivers - but it still won't work. As for the problem being non-specific to Uefa Challenge, I think you are right.
I reckon I've pinpointed the problem to DirectX, which seems to have a problem working in harmony (no pun intended) with my soundcard.
I'm in the middle of GCSE's now, so as you can imagine I haven't got much time to spare to try and fix it. Good luck with your attempts - and let me know if you find a fix.

Anyways, I've kinda fixed the problem. Basically I can play the game (at the moment)
Is anyone else having problems with custom controller configuration?
When I set my controls up like FIFA's and then start the game, the controls are the default 'b' (I think it's 'b') setting

WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!! It now works after I got some MoBo drivers. At last!!!!
Still can't get the hang of the controls, but It is definitely better than FIFA. I have noticed the bugs tho - like when you sub your goalkeeper the one that comes on (sometimes) has some weird thing stuck to his side, like a couple of drumsticks...

That weird thing are supposed to be the keeper gloves(he's got them stuck under his arm)
The controls are cool because they are harder to master than in Fifa2001 and thus make the game slightly harder for the beginner, after a week or so you should be in complete control of it
