2018 world cup bid

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
Russia will be in 2018, so it will be Pre-Qatar.

Regarding the winter WC, I read that they chose to have the final in December 18 so England can still have their boxing-day matches. Do they actually think teams and players will be up and ready to play those games right after the WC?? What a complete joke.

England should just give up the hectic winter schedule. From the world cup to playing 2 times a week? Players usually take 1 month off after the WC.

I actually think Russia will be great, they're rich as fuck, it's gonna be post-qatar and they're going to want to show off to the western world, it'll be a massive propaganda session, I'd hate to be a lower or middle class citizen though, something has to give...

I distantly remember Sochi being a bit of a disaster. Not sure if that would be a sign of things to come, though.

That doesn't sound like a terrible idea.

I hope England proposes this but absolutely no-one joins us except for the home nations, then England can finally win the world cup again!!!! (or more likely finish runner-up to Wales)

Before all this crimea nonsense and general anti-western posturing on behalf of Putin, I thought Russia 2018 had to potential to be an amazing (and unifying) tournament and I was actually thinking of making a massive effort to attend, I also hoped that it would reduce the severity of Russian visa requirements for good and might open up a wider variety of Russian cities to foreign visitors. But now I fear it runs the risk of having the feel of the 1936 olympics...

Do you think Russia will be able to host 2018 at all? I'm not sure they will. The war with Ukraine is one thing, the economic beatdown the US is putting on them is another thing entirely.

They will find the money to host it in style even if it means 5 millions russians in the east going without food and starving to death in the months following the tournament, the only thing that could stop it is some kind of international boycott

Bobby

Probably. They better get on the stick with a couple of the stadiums though considering how long it's taking to finish Zenit's and construction on it started in 2006.

They'll get a special pot so they're kept away from Russia, and probably wind up getting put in some hellacious group with Brazil, Italy, and the USA. Russia will get England, China, and Honduras and lose.

I wonder what will happen if the Ukraine qualifies
Putin would complete the annexation, claim the spot belonging to his new province, and use it to field a second Russian team ...

Deisler

Red Card [Being a douche] exp. 22/1/06
He will built a Stadium in Crimea and put a huge banner saying "Welcome to Russia", and will force Ukraine play and lose all group stages there.
