I'd be more excited about the Draft if the NFL would give the Pats back their wrongly removed picks, but no way they'll actually do it.

So the Rams pulled a Redskins and gave a bunch of picks away for the No. 1 pick, ostensibly to jump ahead of Cleveland and nab a QB. I sort of get it because they have no QB prospects and have a promising RB and a solid defense so they need to get a proper passer to jump ahead of the Cardinals and Seahawks but it seems like a lot of value to throw away for a QB class that is pretty weak.

They say that Rams might pick Wentz but I wonder if they'll pick Goff to take advantage of the fact that he's from Cal. They can get California boy to create a brand for their new LA team that the LA fans might get behind.

I was under the impression that the transcendental players in this draft were Carlos, Ramsey and Elliot. I think the smartest course of action for any QB team would be to address other positions and get Jones, Hackenberg, Cook, or Hogan and have them understudy. I'm sure the Texans would like to get Hackenberg in the 4th or something.

Having a bad couple of seasons? Here's a plan to get out of the slump:

1. As soon as the season starts looking bad, tank to get a Top 3 pick.
2. Be very vocal about how in love you are with the top QBs in the draft, no matter their actual quality.
3. Wait for someone to be stupid
4. Let them stupid their way into giving you picks
5. Don't be stupid, take the haul and run

I mean, seriously, why aren't these teams learning from GB, NE and SEA, who are the best sides in the league and emphasise trading back.

There's a reason those execs don't work for those teams. We're getting better about it too under Gettleman.

Not happy about it because I like him but it was probably the right move. He was allegedly threatening to hold out because he wanted $16m/yr. and the Panthers didn't want to go that high, he was also refusing to sign his franchise tender. Gettleman felt it was bad for the atmosphere and let him go. We have a ton of cap room now and can sign some other priority players to long term deals now.

Could a player bypass the draft to sign up as a free agent through a bidding war (assuming it's a top prospect)?

I guess the question is more whether a player can refuse draft eligibility so he can negotiate his own contract afterwards. I think the answer is no, it's just a matter of the player holding out, like Bo Carlos*son or Manning or Crabtree.

Everyone is eligible for the draft when they're removed from high school (or their country's equivalent) for 5 years if they played the sport in college, or 4 if they didn't. So technically we were both in the NFL Draft at one point.

"Declaring" for the draft is something people who still have college football eligibility do, everyone else is automatically entered.

I dunno, you could fake pics like that quite easily. If it's true that the Tunsil video is several years old Miami might have gotten a steal.

Find it amusing that after the Draft process made Bosa drop a bunch in the rankings, he goes on to be the 1st non-QB. Especially after what the Chargers fan here said about Ramsey over Bosa.

I like this draft for the Seahawks. There are a bunch of top DTs left and a few Gs too. I can see them trading up somewhere in the next 10 picks if one goes off the board.
