Those are good players though, and there are several others coming up. Murillo and Balanta will be a great partnership for years.

The build up to that goal! 😯

I've seen Balanta a couple of times and he didn't look as impressive as I expected.

Yeah, as far as I know the guy is some sort of an FM legend even though I don't play that game, but hasn't really developed as expected in real life.

Hahaha, Paraguay fucks Brazil on penalties again! #2011 (H)

Hope they can do the same to Argentina now (Y)

Damn it, Brazil screwed up again lol.

Anyway, those penalty misses were horrible, the GK even jumped at opposite direction. Only if they could aim properly. Shouldn't have substitute Robinho, I started a have a bad feeling right after that substitution.

Good match anyway.

Was hoping to see brazil vs argentina, damn.

So Brazil was playing for the AM spot with an Al Ahli player at the end of the match.

It's weird how Brazil, despite not being as packed full of quality as usual, does still have a lot of great players anyway and that Dunga refuses to use them. One would think that Douglas Costa, Hernanes, Bernard, Coutinho, Lucas Moura, even Felipe Anderson and Rafinha could have helped if they were on the pitch, but Dunga prefers Robinho, Everton Ribeiro, and Tardelli.

Exactly. I remember him doing the same thing the first time he coached Brazil. It's funny to think that the award for the worst coach at this Copa America would be between Argentina and Brazil.

Dunga: "It's not an excuse, but 15 players had a virus so we couldn't train properly."

Filipe Luís: "I didn't know anything about that..."

don't be harsh on Dunga ... despite being an absolute moron, he *did* improve Brazil since the last Copa: they went out converting ZERO penalties in 2011, while this time they put away THREE ... the upward trend is clear ...

poor guy ... he didn't think he knew anything about it because his brain is obviously still addled by the mystery virus ...

Brazil need to hire a coach with some interest in attacking football ... btw, Dunga didn't learn from WC2010 and yet didn't use few in form players ... playing riberio was an insult to Brazilian fans ...

(H) Oh man I had forgot about that.

To be fair to Dunga, his first time in charge was actually really good; he did some very solid things with Brazil. They played an interesting and fluid system that was also solid defensively; they went out to the Dutch who looked hopeless in the first half before Robben took over in the second and got one of the Brazilians sent off. That was a legitimately good side and Dunga shouldn't have been fired. Michel Bastos was never going to shut down someone like Robben.

I don't know what he's doing now. The system is in question, he's making very odd player choices. And that Brazil wasn't that much more talented than this one, if anyone it was less so. Dunga started guys like Juan, Michel Bastos, Felipe Melo, an elderly Gilberto Silva, and Luis Fabiano.

didn't he have 4 central defenders all on the pitch at some point during this Copa?

he actually doubled up on the right for some reason, where Kuyt was playing, with Maicon AND Dani Alves starting, but left Bastos exposed against Robben ... Melo deserved the red ...

Eduardo Vargas has impressive stats with Chile NT, like a goal every 2 games. Much superior to Alexis.
