1600*1200 resolution AND high quality

Specifications:
GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
Intel DualCore 2.13GHz
2GB 800MHz RAM
...

Why is it impossible to set 1600*1200 resolution and high quality setting at the same time?

If I choose 'high quality' then the maximum resolution I can get is only 1024*768!

Try using Kitserver. I play at 1440*900 and it goes sweet.

You have to choose the resolution using lodmixer.

Here you got the link

what's your max resolution for your monitor? I don't use kitserver and my pc has these
GeForce 8800GTS 640MB
Intel DualCore 3GHz
2GB 800MHz RAM
and I can select up to the max resolution of my lcd, which is 1680 x 1050.

Thank god, I already thought this forum was deserted :)

Well, my LCD (20.1'' Samsung) has max. and native resolution at the same time at 1600*1200 -> due to the nature of LCD it's best to keep it at native resolution.

I have Dual-Core 2.13GHz (with Ninja cooler waiting to be put at higher frequencies), GeForce 8800GTS 320MB, 2GB 800MHz RAM, etc.

As you can see I can't choose anything higher than 1024*768 on high quality :(

WeVi, do you need Kitserver to use 1600*1200?

darklomba, thanks for the link -> if I understand correctly I'll be able to choose higher resolutions with Kitserver?

my lcd is 22" Samsung and the max native resolution is what I stated before and I haven't used kitserver for pes2008, yet! I will use it when it finalized, for now I just patch it the old way, hex editing and GGS.

Works. I've used this lodcfg utility and it let's me enforce 1600*1200, although it still shows 1024*768, but I can tell it's the right solution.

Anyway, why is it impossible to set higher resolutions without Kitserver? Did Konami implement some system that measures if the PC is strong enough to handle PES? Well, Crysis doesn't complain, so that's an obvious indicator they've got it wrong with PES 2008 (not that I'm on same programming level as this guys yet they're full-blown professionals and should put better outcome than this). But you know the saying goes... if 2008 is this bad, PES 2009 will be mind-blowing.

other than the graphic, the game need more than what pes2008 has to offer and a lot to desire.

I really don't know why you can't select your native resolution, that's an answer that Konami should give you. And yes, it's hard to believe that they would limit the resolutions when there are games that require far more specs than PES2008. Who knows...

We should all thank Juce and Robbie for giving us Kitserver.

I'm glad to hear it worked for you. ;)

Manuel.-
