06 Kit questions

Hi kitmakers,

I hope I am in the right forum to write this, as I have a few direct and indirect questions regarding kits in Fifa06. I've waited for the release of Kit Raptor to safely import the new kits without crashes and good news it works flawlessly.

But I wonder how I can change the collar of the kits, for example AC Milan has V-necks ingame but in RL they have V-neck with collar (at the back of the colar you can see the AC Milan text), I did this in Fifa2005 through the creation centre but I have no idea how to do this in 06, anyone?

And secondly I still have the AC Milan kit fonts from Fifa2005 (red and gold for jerseys and shorts) and I wonder how I can import them into 06, last year I inserted the custom .fsh files into a .big file and I assigned them a new font number through creation centre again. For 06, would it be enough to rename my old .fsh files to the new syntax (what syntax do the 06 files have anyway?) and import them in a big file, but then how do I assign them to Milan without a CC?

Hopefuly someone can help me out here, and if someone wants the Milan fonts I can post a screenshot and eventualy mail them if you want to use them also, just pm me or mail me.

Yeah I guess :/

However I found how to alter the collars inside the fifa.db
and changed my Milan collars to the correct ones :

First you have to know the team_id (For Milan it is 47), then convert the fifa.db to access with UniDB 4.0, open in access, open the table teamkits, lookup all the lines with the team_id 47

Milan has 5 record lines starting with it's team_id (0,1,2,3,6)

0 = home kit
1 = away kit
2 = gk kit
3 = third kit
6 = training kit

now, in each record there is a field "collartype" and the value can be 1 to 5

1 = round collar
2 = v-neck with collar
3 = v-neck
4 = high collar
5 = round collar with notch

So for each Milan kit except the training I changed the values to 2 and now they have their correct collars in game after I imported the access database back into the fifa.db, however I will be forced to do this for every roster update I'll install later, sigh


Now for the fonts, that's another story since I don't know how the font .fsh files are named this year, once I know that I might find a way to import them.

But a Creation Centre would be most welcome to make it easier, I hope Chau Lee makes one

Fonts working!!

Yay! After almost a full day of trying and retrying I found a way!





This year in Fifa06 there are 898 font files instead of 348 last year! Last year I created font 349 and 350 fsh files and just added them inside the big file, linked them to Milan in the fifa.db and it worked, so now I tried to make fonts 899 and 900, but it didn't work.

I tried and retried to put them inside zdata10, edited the fifa.db, rebuild everyting for a dozen times, but it didn't work :/ The font files are beginning with "t70" for jerseys and "t80" for shorts and are inside zdata4 to zdata10.

At that point I began to be angry so I took a coffee break and was thinking about what I possibly did wrong. Then I unpacked all the font files in a new directory and started to check them one by one with EA Graph tool (I did this randomly every time jumping by 20 numbers to see why there are so many new fonts), while doing this I discovered a whole bunch of new fonts, especialy the last ones from 850 to 898 look cool, but since I am no kit specialist I don't know if they are Kappa Nike or whatever fonts I just recognize the addidas ones lol.

Then bang! I had an idea, why not put the old milan fonts as number 349 and 350 again? I checked what was there and I discovered the old Real Madrid font (from 2004-2005), so I started checking the other numbers and strangely from 350 to 390 roughly, all the files contain the same old Real Madrid font!

Ok, so I added them as 349 and 350 and hurray it works Now I just have to create the third kit font in 351 (white colour) and change the name colour for the home kit inside the fifa.db and everything will be perfect !

I would put the fonts up for download but I didn't create them myself and I don't remember who created them for Fifa2005, Fiordy? Huz? so I can't ask permission, anyway if you want them just mail me and I'll send you a copy...

Probably Fiordy, he is the only person who I have seen make Milan fonts, post up the other fonts which you found and I'll tell you which teams they belong to, if you wish.

Ok, will do that (there are a bunch though) later when I had more time to look at the files, btw the kits on my screenshots are your Milan 06 kits that I resized to 768 x 768 Curswine, due to EA's format for 06 and the very little space they made for the sleeves, even in this size sometimes the serie A logo looks blurry sometimes :/ would it help if I resize the kits to 1024 x 1024 or isn't it worth the huge memory this will take (the kit sizes are enormous in that case)

I think I might remake the home kit, I have noticed an error on the longsleeves and also on the socks. I think it will look a bit better 1024x1024 but the sharpness won't be great.

Here are the first two fonts, they are both original fonts included in Fifa06 :

See the attachments, font 800 and font 885, I think the 800 might be a Puma font but I'm not sure, as I said I'm a real kit font newbie heheh

yeah, i think you could be right, the first one looks like a really bad try at a Puma font, and the second one is the umbro font which chelsea and some other teams use on their Champions league shirt.
