I think some shows are manipulated to make them more appealing like Hells Kitchen, The Apprentice and others but they are real. Is there any doubt that honey boo boo and her family are level 10 rednecks, I don't think so.
The thing about Duck Dynasty is they played to their base, the country folk who are all about god, guns, and "Americana" and they exploited the ignorance of this base into actually believing they were who they said they were. Then the Tea Party and other conservative groups backed them after what was said caused controversy. Bill Maher was right, the D&D guys did exactly what the Republicans have done for years, exploit the most ignorant portion of our society into believing they care about God, guns and "Americana" when all they really cared about was financial gain.
I don't know that you Euro's have this level of stupidity in your country but its unbelievable that such a large contingent of people in our country can be so fucking dumb.
