£29m bid for Joaquin

Chelsea apparently have made a bid for Joaquin and the president came out and said he only guarantees Joaquin will play the derby against Sevilla and the following match against Atletico Madrid, after that is likely he could move to Chelsea in Jan. There's also reports that Joaquin wouldnt mind a move to the Premiership although he would prefer to go to Real Madrid.

I think Betis won't think twice about selling him to Chelsea... it's their only chance to regain the money they wasted on Denilson.

Haha Abramovich is playing real life CM.

Seriously, why do they need him?

Because Duff is left-footed and the luckiest player alive. So Joaquin on the right and robben on the left will be awesome.

Duff is the luckiest player alive? I have to disagree.

The Irishman is a quality player whether for Blackburn, Chelsea, or his country and always carries a threat. Perhaps he is not having the rich vein of form that his fellow left-footed winger Robben is having at the moment, but that hardly makes him just a lucky player.

And even if he is, as long as he produces the goods, who cares?

Joaquin will give Chelsea another dimension because he is right-footed, but let's not forget that Duff is capable of using either feet. He is an excellent winger/player.

And also, the arrival of Joaquin will mean that most probably Duff will be dropped. Will he take that kindly? Will he want to leave?

Peru why don´t you stick to the subjects you know? Figo has been one of Real´s most consistent players in the last 2 seasons. Altough he is performing quite effectively, i still think that signing Joaquin would be a great move for Real. He is great and he is Spanish. Im always for signing the max number of national players in order to prevent a team from losing their identity. Besides he stated that he wanted to play with his idol, which is Figo anyways. But you can´t fight Abrahmovic´s money, so he will prolly sign for Chelsea.
I´ll be waiting till Uefa applies this new idea of having a percentage of national/youth school players in a team, so we can get rid of some of the effects and perversity of the "Bosman" ruling.

P.s About Duff i just just read an interview of Mourinho saying that Duff has been one of the best players this season, so i don´t think that he will drop him that easily just because of Joaquin. And i agree Duff´s influence on the Chelsea team is undeniable.

weird Mourinho said he didn't want to buy anyone.

£29m for Joaquin seems like a ton of cash especially considering he hasn't been that great lately.
