That's the pattern for only Ps4 gen.

If you look at Ps3 gen fifa games, EA made trash pc ports from fifa 2006 wc all the way upto fifa 11. So they might screw up with pc again if they want.

No next gen is something that can be understood.
I mean, no way they'd release a next-gen game for PC way before the next-gen console versions hit the shelves, it wouldn't be wise commercially IMO.
So, they'd be left with two ways (well, three to be honest):
  • The FIFA 14 route: release an old-gen for PC in September and release the next-gen console games in November (or whenever it is) > you'd have the "I want it next-gen" people complain.
  • The "alternative" route: push back the release of the PC game to November and release a next-gen version for consoles and PC at the same time > you'd have the "I want it in September" crowd raging.
  • The "third" way (utopian, I know) would be to release a current-gen PC game in September and then "upgrade" it when the next-gen ones get released so it is on par. But it's EA, don't think it will ever happen.
This is a situation in which you can't just please everybody.

If it can be done on consoles, why can't it be done on PC ? It should actually be easier.

I also felt frustrated when I found out only on the Xbox x series and PS5 you can see the new graphics. Although I'm going to enjoy all other new features such as the new career mode.
