Well, I have just asked this to @scouser09 . As far as I know tournaments that go for more than 1 year can crash the game. So maybe it's not possible. At least the finals' tournaments can have real dates.

I thought I might post this here. I've asked this to scouser on PM (he is helping with RTWC mod tournaments), but this is probably relevant to RevMod & editing menu navigation files too. If anyone has any idea about if even this is possible - please reply!

So, my question/idea is this one: Is is possible to sort national teams in the International League into the 6 confederations (UEFA, CAF, CONMEBOL, AFC, OFC & CONCACAF)?

I've done some digging around in the game files from the 2018 WC DLC + both the 2010 & 2014 official WC video games. Each of them have ui assets which have a unique "confederations" or "confed" folder. Furthermore, each of the ui graphics correspond to the confederation IDs found in the nations table of the main fifa_ng_db.db database file.

The IDs are as follows:

2 = UEFA (Europe)
3 = CAF (Africa)
4 = CONMEBOL (South America)
5 = AFC (Asia)
6 = OFC (Oceania)
7 = CONCACAF (North America)

In each game/DLC, the confederation graphics have the same IDs over at least 8 years. In each official World Cup game, 2006, 2010, 2014 - the teams have been sorted by confederation, while in the 2018 DLC they were sorted by 32 Finalists & DNQ (did not qualify).

Given that this is a menu option trigger, I think this also has to do with one of the .nav or .xml files for navigating the menus. I've tried searching those files from 2010-2018 World Cups, but I'm a bit lost on that.

That would be awsome if we could sort it by confedertion otherwise it will take long to search the team you want, thats actually a very awsome idea to be honest.

For now it's only possible by making new nations in the database called by the confederation names. But this causes problems with commentary & the national anthems don't play for all teams.

yes is possible, go to league, create new one and add the teams by confederation

i tried it and and create the confeds as leagues,putting country as "international".they appear ok in the team selection menu but they don't have national anthems in game..

Yes, this is the problem that I am trying to avoid. Putting the confederations as separate nations &/or leagues means that the international specific commentary & the cinematics for anthems no longer play. If there would be a way to have the confederations display in the same way like in the World Cup games, this would be really beneficial. Otherwise, you have to have all the International teams (211+) in a single line-up in Alphabetical order. It's feasible, but a bit of an inconvenience.

I also wonder if this is the method to prevent national teams from other confederations to play in the World Cup Qualification tournaments (for example the Finals teams form other confeds), so that they join the World Cup Finals from the simultaneous tournaments played in each separate confederation.

Robbie, you would add new players to the database.
I would send you a logo for these teams what you need and an add-on would be released. With all tournaments from every continent. Checked works. In the next phase you would spend the Road to world cup tournament. You didn't want my help, it was enough to send me a database and I would do it. Now we are waiting for a miracle.

Guys, if you make WC qualifiers, will you add only FIFA nations in the tournament or every NT in the patch? Btw I hope that all FIFA national teams will have licensed kits :)
