FIFA 19 News and Suggestions

Given the fact that we are already six month away from fifa 19 launch and it is a very important period into it's developmnent, I believe this could be a good place to share the news, our wishes and proposals.
It is important to keep ourselves balanced and express realistic and moderate opinions since it is known the producers of the game do read important forums such as this, making for themselves a general ideea for what the users want.
It exists a real possibility that at least some of our wishes to be implemented in the series this year or be taken under consideration for the future.

Making a little sideway discussion, it could be a good year for those who liked playing NHL series on pc, with more and more rumours about the tranzition of the series on frostbyte and it's arrival on pc for 2019 edition.

First good news come from Microsoft itself.
It seems they are ready to add moding support through windows 10 in the near future.
This could be a slap in the face of old grumpy EA, open enemy of moding, but will be a huge help for us in adding leagues, stadiums and othe graphic stuff which EA do not care about. In fact only league worth playing with what we have by default is Premier League, the rest we have one ore two stadiums, generic faces and names...dust in the eyes.
Speaking of suggestions, I would like to point in the direction of generic stadiums, unchanged for many years and all of them with old looks.
These generic stadiums are in need of upgrade, or rather complete change, to keep up with latest trends in architecture and since year after year we have less and less real stadiums, it would be a good ideea to make more and better modern generic stadiums.
It seems also like we'll get Champions and Europa League since Konami ended the deal with Uefa.

I might be totally wrong here but I've never noticed any sort of "official" or even "officious" (does that word even exist?) position stated by EA regarding modding (like I said I might be completely wrong) but I assume their position is the same as pretty much every developer regarding mods, meaning they don't want people messing with their stuff otherwise they wouldn't have some of their things as annoyingly obfuscated as they have.

I'd love it if they had one of those rare "we don't support modding - as in we won't help you do it - but we're not putting you in the doghouse if you happen to figure out how to do it" attitudes.

There are some areas where irony isn't lost regarding FIFA imo, like the fact that it looks like the majority of the people who keep buying the game year in year out do it because of that Fantasy Football (or soccer for my North American friends) bs fest (a.k.a FUT), at least judging by how many people play the game on consoles where modding (due to the nature of the platform) is a big no-no and yet there's a game made specifically to work as that half baked online nonsense which is actually free to play and it's called FIFA Online. The irony doesn't stop there; Lots of things you just recently saw in Fifa (without modding that is) like Tattoos, some new faces, etc, usually find their way into FIFA Online before the premium paid version of the game (sometimes it even gets faces the regular, paid series doesn't because the player might retire afterwards and some faces despite being ready only make their way to the regualr game the following year)

I honestly think Associations and Clubs should change their contracts and tell the companies to shove the exclusivity clauses because aside from the sum they may receive for it, they lose market exposure and the consumers who play the video games get screwed. EA's now defunct contract with Porsche was a prime example of how EA takes brands hostage and how dealing with the devil can bite you in the ass: For the longest time Porsche lost brand exposure and market revenue from other racing games because EA had them by the nuts with the exclusivity clauses.

Having exclusive Teams and competitions on game A and game B isn't a very smart deal, because you're risking losing a significant part of the market or you're gambling on people buying both games (in EAs vs Konamis titles case). Without exclusivity your brand gets exposure across the entire market and all the consumers win.

Not to mention the fact that EA has a knack for sitting on licenses and not take proper care of them: To them unless you're in the Premier League, you're not worth it; They've got a deal with La Liga and the Bundesliga yet only the English clubs get a bucket load of stadiums, not to mention virtually every player in the BPL has their face scanned (I'm exaggerating but still) At least Konami scans faces from some of their partner clubs and has some stadiums. (None of the games can really have a crack at the other. Both have flaws)

I think the move to frostbite didn't really do FIFA any favors... The visual change although obvious wasn't properly mindblowing and the gameplay hasn't exactly taken a stellar leap forward and for modders it took the fun out of the game IMO.

They'll need a whole lot more than licensed UCL and EL to make the game worth it again.

But those are just my two cents

We have almost confirmed Champions League and Europa League for fifa 19 but still this is only a image upgrade, we could do it but adding adboards and stadiumn dressing plus names inside db. No big deal afterall.
There is a indeed a need for more licensed top competitions like Bundesliga, serie A and, Liga and Ligue 1, with stadiums, faces and kits because the more we advance in technology and time, the more consumers want from the game. You cannot just serve every year the same food, just Premier League complete and a handfull of stadiums for the rest with generic faces and kits. It just won't work anymore and the comunity is beginning to be aware of that.
I'm not criticizing the advancements made by EA so far, is ok, but not enough for the money they are charging and their status as top dogs in the field.
And yes, I still don't get this exclusivity thing. What in heaven could Konami win by taking exclusive rights for Siganl Iduna Park and Nou Camp when the rest is just zero, no licenses, kits or anything. Why would I buy such a game? Or why would EA take exclusivity on european competitions and not let Konami share the rights? Just for killing the competitors and for the money in this moment? What about the future and a healthy race between producers? Only winners are the rights owners, clubs and leagues but on the long run, we, the consumers loose....and consequently EA and Konami.
I really hope Microsoft will live up to their promises and add some modding suport for games althouh I wouldn't hold my breath.

"Healthy" to any corporation means having an exclusive product that millions of people buy regularly, and with zero competition from other companies. You're asking why don't ducks jog instead of waddle. The answer is because they're ducks.
It just won't work anymore and the comunity is beginning to be aware of that.
I'm not sure who you mean here, FIFA is more popular than ever. It's the best selling sports game every year; it's closest competitor is NBA which it outsells x2, plus it outsells PES x10. And I disagree with your general overview, FIFA 18 is an obvious improvement from past FIFA editions. With a few tweaks and edits, plus Fidel's cam mod, it plays absolutely fantastic. EA is definitely making an effort each year to improve the game on some level. Obviously not as much as some people want, but that's why we have modding tools.

My one suggestion would be to have a deeper and better-functioning slider set to tweak game difficulty and AI behaviour.

Chants, chants, chants, chants. If they dont want to make for most teams, they should bring back custom audio thing.
Its annoying to play with some teams when you know that they have atmosphere, nice support and you just hear some random shit chanting. Like Eastern teams, Poladn, Nordic plus updating many teams in big leagues.

And i would like to see something like Stadium Creator. I really dont understand that...

Indeed, one of my biggest wish also is a stadium creator and kit creator.
But that is against EA's policy at the moment regarding modding also in the future who knows....
True also that EA brings good new things every year and the game is moving forward leaving the competition behind but there is still room for more good things.
I wouldn't mind some new leagues also although in my country, Romania, EA made offers to the league officials for the past few years but greed, to put it mildly, blockes the addition of romanian league in fifa 18. Seems to exist talks this year too for fifa 19 but it takes two sides to make a deal and the realisation from the federation officials that romanian league is not Premier League or Bundesliga and cannot ask the same ammount of money.

Well also if they cant adding new leagues, at least they could fill up nicely Rest of World with many teams. 2-3 teams from every other league (at least teams qualified for European competitions).

new stadiums in Fifa 19?

Fingers crossed. These stadiums weren't in original LOC files, they came within the WC DLC. There are 16 new La Liga stadiums (incluidng Riazor with naming rights) and they include the promoted ones for next season and not the relegated ones...

These are some good news althogh still no Nou Camp or Signal Iduna Park.
But still, three new german stadiums and almost all from La liga, that is impressive.
And maybe Stade Gerland will be the new Lyon stadium.
Or perhaps we will have a bigger surprise even and get all Bundesliga stadiums.

Looks like an avalanche of more good new and promises for fifa 19 are on the way.
We will probably have Serie A and Copa Italia fully licensed and a return of Signal Iduna Park acording to Dailymail since Konami just lost those licenses and cut short the 4 year deal with Borussia Dortmund.
There must be something wrong with Konami since they will have practically no licenses left, perhaps Barcelona the only one and the future there looks bleak with EA grabing this oportunity with both hands.
On the other side perhaps Konami will invest all they got now into a revolutionary engine and the game itself and no graphichs with licenses since those can be added by modders in a short time. If Frostbyte would have been more modding friendly we would not have to worry about missing licenses but as it stands every little thing that will be added is a great bonus.

Latest list of "features" released. Same old stuff really.

https://www.easports.com/fifa/news/2018/fifa-19-gameplay

The only thing that slightly took my interest. They will get it wrong though and all teams will still play the same way. No doubt the AI wont change during the match either (like in PES).
Dynamic Tactics

The reimagined tactical system gives players the tools to set multiple tactical approaches, deeper pre-match customization, and new options for in-match adjustments. Each tactical approach combines formations, mentalities, and attacking and defensive play styles so that you can easily customize your play in any situation.

Fifa 19 is going to release in the year 2019. Fifa 19 will get many features like UCL, EURO, and even Seria A. There are lots of new celebrations coming with the new Fifa 19. A great new feature Second Player Marker is coming with this update. If you need more support you can check Microsoft Tech Support UK

Sad news....there will be no NHL 19 for pc this year despite the clues it might be so.
Tipycal EA strategy....buy consoles.
Ten years now without a nhl game for pc and the more upsetting since now porting the game to pc it's not so difficult.

Well, they are porting Madden to PC. That's a start. If that game sells well, then maybe EA will attempt porting their other sports titles.
