Any big Game of Thrones fans. I've decided since we're at least a year from Season 8, every Monday I'm going to watch an episode from the start again. So by the time I catch up to where we are, Season 8 should be here.

67 weeks should just about get me there. If I miss a Monday here and there, all the better - it'll give me grace period if they're even later with Season 8. Once I know a date, I can start speeding up closer to the release date.

Rick and Morty is my favorite cartoon currently.
Everyone keeps raving about it - so I tried to watch the first episode and I couldn't get into it. It reminded me too much of cartoons I hate - like Bob's Burgers, Ren & Stimpy, King of the Hill etc. I always hated those for whatever reason - and thats what Rick and Morty reminded me.

Is that just the pilot or does it get better?

I saw season 8 would take them 2 years to finish, so, you can take your time. I wanna read the books again to be ready for winds of winter, so I have about five years before that happens.

And Rick and Morty is awesome, I liked the first episode as much as the rest, so I don't know why you don't like it. I like Bob's burgers, so maybe it's not your type of show.

I would say yes. It's very deep and very detailed as well as very funny. It's not just some average cartoon with fart jokes.

That said if the pilot didn't reel you in not sure if you'll like it since the pilot more or less shows you what it's gonna be about.

I was really surprised about the third season, which concentrates on another characters.. I thought it couldn't top the previous seasons, but it was really well made.

In the first two there's this annoying actor who plays the American DEA agent, in the third one they've got better actors for that role, and more Colombian actors.

Considering loads of stuff actually happened, then some parts of it are almost unbelievable. The directing is spot on, and has some really emotional scenes in it (the plane thing). Awful.

The Brazilian actor is great too. Colombia is a country with a very rich and sad history, but it's getting better, or it has already.

There are some decent points being made as well, like whose fault is this really? Apparently Americans consumed 20t per year at some point, so where there is demand, there's always supply.

Also, from what I've read the recent law changes over there pay extra money to farmers who quit growing those plants instead of coffee beans, bananas, you name it.. And get paid extra by the government for doing so.

P E is smoking grass all the time, for stress.. So I wonder if half the awful stuff he did was whilst being fucked up/paranoid/what ever long term marijuana use brings with itself. I guess eventually you get used to the condition, like with any other things. The stuff was probably so good anyway that it cannot be compared to the rubbish that's being sold, unless it's medical grade.

And don't get me wrong, I don't worship the guy or something. I don't know where to even begin, but that's that.

So now it all comes Bolivia and Peru...There's still global demand, it has to come from somewhere.

So now it all comes Bolivia and Peru...There's still global demand, it has to come from somewhere.

I think Peru is number one producer in the world, closely followed by Bolivia and Colombia.

You see, the coca leaves in Bolivia and Peru contain higher percentage of cocaine alkaloids or something. So the top shelf producers most likely produce the paste over there, then ship it to where they can process it, making it into C HCl. You aren't going to ship leaves. I think you needed 100 or 1000kg of leaves in order to make 1 kilogram of product.

Guerilla operations such as FARC (not anymore really, maybe only those guys who left FARC and continued with the business) and ELN finance their operations by cultivating coca plants, and making it into the final product, then shipping it to where ever. For the money they receive they for it they buy weapons and stuff to fuel their war.

Obviously a large chunk still comes from there, but I think from Colombia they ship mostly to Mexico and USA. I mean the location is just asking for it. While the stuff that gets to European markets, either comes from Peru or Bolivia, Colombia too surely. Again because of the location (the first two).

It's not like everybody follows the new order so to speak. The farmers are still under pressure by the narcos and guerillas, so some probably have no other option than to grow it.

Most of the bigger crop comes from Southern/Southeastern part of the country, the climate and remote locations help.

So they might have fallen off the pedestal a tad bit fortunately, but it's not like it stopped completely.

Global demand haha.. That's one way to put it. Mexican cartels for instance ship out around 20 tonnes per month, if I recall correctly. Not to a single location, but overall. It might be a bit less, or a bit more. They're the ones moving it mostly. South-American countries (not countries, but cartels/individuals) just sell it to them in order for the product to end up where it has to.

This is what my logic puts together. I'm pretty sure you already knew most of it to a certain degree (or more).

Narcos Season 3 was really amazing. It always kept me on edge. I was rooting for the Head of Security guy who became a DEA rat. I think this season was way better than the past two to be honest.

Rick and Morty is a lot of fun. Anyone watch Archer?

Archer? Archer is awesome. The word play that he uses there is quite funny, and well.. You really gotta watch it in order to appreciate it properly. Phrasing.

Narcos seasons 1-2? I've slowly been watching El Patrón del Mal (around the 20th episode mark), and I have to say it's better. You should check it out, it starts quite slowly, but it builds up and gets quite intense. If that's your thing I mean.

Better than the last two? It's questionable... First season was so-so, I couldn't stand the main Americano DEA agent actor at all. The ones they had in the third were much better actors.

Archer's "servant" is funny lol.. That thing is just classic I'm telling ya.

Phrasing is the best thing I've gotten from Archer. I love the show but Season 8-9 has been a bit disappointing for me.

Yeah, at first I felt kinda off with the new American DEA agents but they really did well. I enjoyed the pacing during season 3. All the corruption from the government was really infuriating but made the whole show really enjoyable for me. Not that I enjoy corruption but it just added more depth, the depth that I wanted.

I'm currently watching Bojack Horseman right now and so far it's been really sad. The things that Bojack says sometimes really hits home hard.
