Jonathan Soriano (Red Bull Salzburg) ---> Bayer Leverkusen.

Good for him, more than 120 goals in 140 games in Austria.

Not sure on the details exactly. Media in different countries are reporting different things, but it does appear to be 28m. Whether it's 8 for the loan and 20m next year, or 3 for the loan and 25m next year, and if the purchase is obligatory, all seem hazy at this point.

But it should be a hint to Juventus that the player you think you're getting in Draxler is not the real Draxler. Juve are busy quibbling over a couple bucks for Draxler, while Bayern just splash this kind of cash (a similar amount no less) on Coman. We could have had Draxler if we thought he was a great player or had great potential. Evidentally, we didn't, and I don't think it comes as a huge surprise to most Bundesliga fans that we didn't.

Yeah, I don't really want Draxler - despite him seeimngly being the only available CAM

No idea how Coman is supposed to be worth that much, I doubt you will take up the option (if it is an option) after the loan so hopefully there is a significant initial fee

Conspiracy is Bayern paid overs so that we can take Draxler out of the Bundes and weaken an opponent..

Haha we got such a great deal for Coman. He'll never be worth that much, as much as I like the kid. Has no end product, pace alone gets old really quickly. Wish he does well though.

Well, if he's not that good, Bayern won't buy him permanently ... I think its an excellent approach to test his talents ... also he'll be more motivated too ...

It's a really baffling move, as I was under the impression that Coman was a disappointing player.

The Draxler issue is further proof that we look at wonderkids in the wrong way. We look at young talent abnd project it to continue progressing when, for many, that's as high as it gets. I wouldn't give up on him yet; he's very young still and had injury issues but I can see why Bayern wouldn't want to take that risk. They can wait on him and if he's really that good they can just splash later.

Coman to Bayern - loan + 28m option

Reports are saying obligation.
truly baffling ... Marotta will be laughing all the way to the bank if he's managed to secure an obligation, not an option ... and if the net result is gambling 5-6 mil on Draxler, then that's a win for Juve ...

this is a spurious claim ... it's not that he's playing week in, week out, and has plateaued; he's been constantly injured (as you yourself recognize), and that takes its toll ... extrapolating talent makes sense ... the caveat being potential injuries also makes sense ...

Some are. What I'm seeing today is that it's a 2 year loan; first year 3m, second year 5m (which explains that ridiculous sounding 8m figure), 20m option at the end. Good deal for Bayern. I know you people think Di Marzio is an all knowing transfer information God, but I don't trust all of his details. He isn't getting the info from Bayern, he's getting it from Juve who are trying to sell this transfer to their fans.

I didn't mean that Draxler was an example of this, just that it's a possibility that we rarely consider. For me the best example was Barry Bannan, who had all the tools to be a top DLP and I figured he's just keep improving until he was in his late 20s, at which point he should be a good top level player. He didn't, he never got any better so he has stayed a bottom-midtable contributor.

still all rumors, yes, but why would Juve need to sell this to their fans? if anything, the club would want to keep this as under wraps as possible, because Juve fans would be lauding the genius of Marotta all over the twitterverse, and laughing at you guys for making the summer window a whopping success ...

haha, Barry Bannan? the new Xavi / Iniesta? you were alone on that delusional front, buddy, so that's a terrible example ...

Juventus has prided themselves on not selling their players, and now Bayern has plucked Vidal and one of their most promising youngsters in the same summer. The only way Juventus can put a shine on this is to claim that they are getting an insane deal.

Coman is one of their most promising youngsters? actually, I think you're technically right, though that's not saying much ...
