Falcao's confidence must have taken some beating Wilson starting ahead of him.

De Gea's sponsorship deal is really in limbo, adidas gloves and puma boots.

The match was much close than the scoreline implies ... De Gea had 7-8 great saves against Sterling and Baloteli ... great revenge for last year humiliation.

6th Victory in a row ... lots of credit to LVG ... this team is literally Moyes team ... Angel-Blind-Rojo-Shaw are all injured for few weeks now and Falcao is not 100% ;-) ...

Regarding Wilson, it's nice to see a home grown player start ... but he shouldn't play when we have Ander and Falcao ...

Regardless of table, I consider Chelsea, United, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton as top 7. We had a great record against top 7 this year:
1-2 win against Arsenal
3-0 win against Liverool
2-1 win against Everton
1-1 draw with Chelsea
0-1 defeat against City (with 10 men)
10 out of 15 points ... not bad ... much better than last year

Definitely touched it, and Mata was miles offside at that point. It was probably very difficult for the linesman to spot, because how fast the cross came in and the ball changed direction just a very little. I wonder who'll officially claim the assist since it was offside, Young or van Persie?

I doubt it. I believe van Gaal said something like Wilson is starting in this match because of his pace, which was needed or something.

Now that Falcao he has regained match fitness he'll get his games for sure. I thought his partnership with van Persie looked quite dangerous in the end, although it was against a poor Liverpool side who were 3-0 down and had already given up. van Persie also looked liked his old self at times in the end after that goal, it gave him lots of confidence, but it also had to do with the fact that Liverpool had lost motivation, and the game already.

Have to say that de Gea is fucking fantastic! :P And Fellaini looked great again, won so many balls in the midfield, even whilst being on a yellow card early on.

Also thought this was funny:

A teacher starts a new job at a primary school on Merseyside and, trying to make a good impression on her first day, explains to her class that she's a big football fan and supports Liverpool. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Liverpool fans. Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says: "Mary, why didn't you raise your hand?" "Because I'm not a Liverpool fan miss," she replies. The teacher, still shocked asks: "Well, if you're not a Liverpool Fan, then who are you a fan of?" "I'm a United fan, and proud of it," Mary replies. The teacher can't believe her ears. "Mary, how come you're a United fan?" "Because my mum and dad are from South Manchester and are United fans, so I'm a United fan too!" "Still," says the teacher, annoyed, "that's no reason for you to be a United fan as well. You don't have to be like your parents all the time, do you? What if your mum was a prostitute and your dad was a drug addict and car thief. Would you be like them then?" "No," smiles Mary, "I'd be a Liverpool fan."

Unfortunately I missed the game but the last 15 minutes. Will download the game later.

If Falcao is going to be 3rd down the pecking order behind Rooney and RvP, would it be worthwhile buying him next year? How much is Monaco asking, like 50 millions? He will be 29 then; same age that RvP had when we bought him and he was at the peak of his carreer. He cost 22 millions or something I think. I think we should just keep Wilson as 3rd choice or buy a younger prospect striker.

How did Fellaini look good? He was rash and slow.
Well i think he did a good job at breaking up their play in our final 3rd, put in a lot of good tackles and won the ball quite a lot, especially in the end of the match. That's what he's supposed to do. Maybe i'm just too high on the victory and said this based on his second half performance.

But so far we've been winning games and he's been good and keeping Ander Herrera out of the lineup. I'd also like him to start, but i think it's good that we've finally got so many options in the midfield, even with Blind and Di María being out. Now if we only got our defence sorted out.

Dunno. All three of them can play at once too, but that would mean dropping Mata.

But i think it's too early to make such decision yet, this should be brought into question in the end of the season, he's just on loan right now. Let's see how he'll do when he finally finds his feet. There'll be lots of games in a short period of time in the end of the year, so i'd like to see him start instead of van Persie at least once, and i'm quite sure it'll happen.

Wilson looks like good prospect though.

Nady is right, 50m is a lot for current Falcao ... he really needs to prove himself and hopefully LVG will give him that chance ...

Mata-Rooney-RVP have a good harmony now, I'm not sure how Di Maria and Falcao will fit into this system ... they both could be much more useful if we played in champions league this season.

I suppose so, he is good at the grunt work. It just seems to me that he's always slow to the defensive ball which can lead to giving up goals, that's all. He is improving though which is awesome.
Oh, and why is Jonny Evans still playing?!:swear2: The boy is a huge liability!!
That back pass was atrocious!!

I think both Rojo and Smalling are injured ... the amount of center back injuries this season is just ridiculous ...

:D I personally don't have anything against Evans. I think he's quite good, usually on the ball as well, and van Gaal likes ball-playing centre-backs.

But yeah he had a lot of better options instead of that back pass, just screwed up. Had Sterling hit it the first time instead of taking a touch first, it would have been a goal for sure. I haven't got the slightest idea why he decided not to. Luckily for us he didn't.

Just read the news, yea Rojo's injured (Van Gaal won't elaborate more on it though). He was rushed back into action too quickly, so the more rest for him the better.
As for Smalling, a little injury prone isn't he?

van Gaal seems to prefer Valencia for some reason, though. Probably because we're often playing with 3 centre-backs, and the wing-back role seems to suit Valencia better, dunno. He's been alright lately, but i prefer Rafael as the main right back if we're playing with 4 defenders. Also the latter has been injured a lot lately, that could be one of the reasons as well.

Also earlier on i forgot to add that Evans needs to have an experienced CB next to him, exactly which we're lacking at the moment. In a 3 man defense Carrick can be that guy, but he's not really a defender.

Pretty bad game against Yeovil. This should have been a comfortable win despite the few younsters. This is worrisome.

No way! It just illustrates my extremely deep knowledge about the season in hand. I mean it's quite obvious, no? :s

Ahh it was clearly a half-assed performance by the players (except for Fletcher who was absolutely rubbish even when trying). Only saw the second half, but it was crystal-clear. Against a 9th division opponent in a small 5k-something capacity stadium in a shitty English weather at its peak? And it looked like the Yeowil guys were playing their hearts out, i mean how often do they get to play against a top PL side featuring Falcaos and Di Marias? I wouldn't be too worried, afterall we won and nobody is going to remember this match 1 or 2 months from now.

Former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes 'set to join Manchester United'

Not too exciting. He'll be a great backup but he should be at a clubb where he would be starter. We also already have a good backup GK in Lindegaard. His wages are ikely to be high also.
