FIFA 15 Demo Freezing Mid Game

Hey, i have this weird problem, just like this guy here :

http://forum.ea.com/uk/posts/list/2927046.page

I'll just copy paste his comment since it's the exact same problem

It's absolutely unplayable. Every 2-3 seconds the game freezes and the audio loops.

Firstly I though it was just an issue with my CPU being a dual core (Core 2 Duo E7500 at 2,93 GHz), but lately I read similar freezing issues from people who have Core i5 CPUs (there is a case in this forum), which are quad-core and obviously above minimum requirements for FIFA 15.

I don't know what's the source for this issue. It's annoying because with my GPU (AMD R7 250, 1GB GDDR5), the game is capable of running at 60 fps with default camera, at the very fortunate moments where it doesn't freeze.

I find strange that this game runs well with low-powered quad-cores or octa-cores, but horrible with high-powered dual-cores. The very fact my PC can run games like Metro Last Light just fine but not FIFA 15 reveals that the engine still needs optimization.

Hey,

do the following steps:

1) Download Graphic Cards Driver
2) Download newest .NET Framework
3) go to the Folder, where you installed the Demo. There should be a folder, called __Installer. In there, there are 3 more folders, directx11, dotnet and vc. Go in each by clicking on "redist" and install/reinstall.

I think this should solve your problems, as it mostly stutters because of Directx.

Answer if it helped...

Hi. I have absolutley no stuttering or freezing while playing alone, but yesterday I played some matches together with my friend and suddenly there were freezes. I found out, that the second gamepad was the problem (ps3 gamepad with ds3 tool). It runs smooth with the xbox gamepad connected, but as soon as I connect my second gamepad, the game starts freezing and the sound loops, about 4-5 times per match.

OT: Since I'm planning on getting the R7 250, do you think it could handle medium settings or do you have to play most of the games in low?

Same here, I have an G3258 @ 4Ghz and I get 3-4 seconds freezes, it looks like it's a GPU problem since, as Prometheus said, when recording with Shadowplay they get more frequent.
I also have a few friends with i5 that get these freezes, but it's mostly related to 2 threads CPU's, even if they are perfectly capable of sustaining 60 FPS. :(

torpedo007: don't buy R7 250, either go for 250X or opt for HD 7770/650 Ti at second-hand (or 7750/GTX 650 if your budget is low). Also make sure you have a decent CPU.

Is R7 250 that bad? Ordered it, came home to see your post. Did some comparison and my budget isn't stretchable. Thought 1GD5 would do me good. Would I regret it?

Mostly, I don't know the prices in your country, but in my country 250X is only about 10-15% more expensive and about 50% better, I think it's well worth it, don't you think ?
