Even if we ignore the fact that Chinese military technology would be much, MUCH more advanced that your own, let's just look at the amount of active troops:

China: 2,285,000 (and 800,000 reserves)
Phillipines: 80,000

You don't have to be a great mathematician to work out that equals trouble.
