Lewandowski not to go to England; (so that we can win at Wembley in October)

Neymar to move to Europe next season; before the 2014 WC.

I would like to see Gareth Bale become a Galatico but NOT go to Germany.

I would like Modric to come the Chelsea and still think it is semi possible.

I expect Baines to move to United, and probably Fellaini too, though he may come to Chelsea and I hope he does if there is no Modric.

Sounds like we are getting Schurrle, fine, but I am not so excited about this.

I would like to see Torres go, hopefully back to Atletico in part exchange for Falcao. I would also like Chelsea to sign Isco and Hummels and anyone else good.

Would like to see Rooney go to PSG, and half expect it.

I think City are going to move on a LOT of players and it will be interesting to see where.

If Villa get relegated I will be curious to see where the likes of Bentenke and Bannan go.

I desire Suarez, Cavani, Falcao, Benzema, Higuain but I expect Diamanti, Floro Flores or Boriello. Panic buy style.

I expect a GK, Shaw, Schurrle, Fellaini.

I want a GK, Gundogan, Lars Bender, Fellaini, Lewandowski, Oczipka/Shaw.

I was thinking today about what Chelsea need to be the best in the world. To know this, I set up the benchmark as being Bayern. We are currently much worse than they are, and I think they're the best team around right now, so how do we compare with them? Well:

GK: Neuer and Starke vs Cech, Turnbull, Hilario, Courtois

Neuer, and Cech are pretty even. I'd even give us the edge right now. Cech has returned to his pre-Hunt level and improved even. He has been stellar for two seasons now, and we have Courtois coming up and he could potentially be better than both, so that is set. Hilario and Turnbull are leaving, so I'd like us to get someone homegrown as cover until Courtois takes over.

CB: Dante, Boateng, Badstuber, van Buyten vs David Luiz, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill

I think it's pretty even, might even be slightly to our favor. Dante is brilliant but so is David Luiz, both excellent on the ball but in completely different ways. The other 3 Bayern CBs aren't that amazing, and while ours aren't either, Ivanovic is probably better than any of their other CBs, and Terry and Cahill offer great back-up for now. So, even, I wouldn't look to invest here, especially aswe have good CBs in the reserves.

RB: Lahm, Rafinha vs Azpilicueta, Ivanovic

This is where we lose out. Lahm is the best, Azpi and Ivanovic are not, simple as. We have better back-up for RB, much better, and I think we have 2 of the best RBs around, but we can't beat them here unless we take Lahm. We also have good RBs in the reserves, so I wouldn't do anything here. Azpi is young and already great, Ivanovic can play there when he's not at CB and he's excellent there, too. There are better RBs, but certainly not worth the money for such a miniscule improvement.

LB: Alaba, Contento vs Cole, Bertrand

Again, we lose out. Alaba is Top 3 if not the best, and Cole is still very good but not at that level anymore. Can still deliver if given rest but he won't be with us for much longer. Bertrand will never reach Cole's level but he's very serviceable, I'd say better than Contento. Not much we can do here since there aren't many better LBs around, but we'll need someone to take over from Cole, so this is the first area we should be looking into.

MC: Schweini, Martinez, Gustavo, Tymoschuk vs Lamps, Mikel, Ramires, Romeu

We lose heavily here. Our guys are fine, but they're not Martiez and Schweini, and we need major improvement here. Basically, Ramires shouldn't be playing here, Lamps is gonna leave or is gonna be phased out and isn't worldclass anyway. Romeu might turn good still, and Mikel is good, but not worldclass. So, we basically need 2 starters so Mikel can be moved to 3rd choice. A creator, Gundogan, and a more complete box-to-box type who can do a better defensive shift, but who is also good in posession. One of the Benders, Matuidi, Pogba (H) would be great. We also have good players who might be able to play here, like KDB, Chalobah, McEachran, but either they're not good enough yet or not capable of playing in the double-pivot, so we need reinforcement. I mentioned Fellaini because that way we push Mikel to 4th and he's quite versatile too, as I've said before. It's a dream, but Gundogan, Bender, Fellaini, Mikel is better than what Bayern currently have. Schweini-Martinez are better than any combination we'd pull, but not by that much, and that depth would be amazing.

Third band: Kroos, Muller, Ribery, Robben, Shaqiri vs Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Moses, Marin, Yossi

We lose here, but we're much better than we were 12 months ago. In rough comparisons, it goes: Kroos and Oscar, Mata and Ribery, Hazard and Robben, Moses and Shaqiri, Marin/Schurrle and Muller. Bayern win, but some are close, I think Hazard is currently better than Robben and I wouldn't trade Mata for Ribery either. Yossi and Marin prolly don't have much future anyway, so assuming Schurrle comes, that's a better comparison. I wouldn't invest here. The difference isn't that large and we have young, great players who will improve and if Schurrle comes in we have as great a bench as they do. So, so long as Schurrle comes, we don't need anyone. If he doesn't, then a winger would be needed to reach Bayern's level (or near it)

Oh, forgot Bayern get Gotze now. Yeah, they're better. I suppose even if Schurrle comes then another winger would make things more favourable (I'd rate Bayern higher, but we have a great third band). Assuming we get everyone I mention, we'd have Fellaini and KDB as cover, too, which is more than enough. We also have Ramires who could be shifted back to RW.

ST: Mandzukic, Gomez, Pizarro vs Lukaku, Ba, Torres

We lose here, quite heavily. Switch Torres for Lewandowski and it's a different matter. He'd tip the balance in our favour, actually. Lewandowski as starter, Lukaku can be given another year on-loan or given a rotational role, and Ba is very good too. If not Lewandowski then I'd probably rather stick with Lukaku and let him learn the craft here. Even more than getting Falcao (since he'd be ridiculously expensive)

So, to sum up, in order for us to become better/as good as/nearly as good as Bayern, who are my comparison point for best in the world, we'll need: temporary GK cover, LB with potential, Fellaini, Gundogan, Bender, Schurrle and Lewandowski, which would leave us with this:

Lewandowski
Hazard - Mata - Oscar
Gundogan - Bender
Cole - Luiz - Ivanovic - Azpi
Cech

Bench: GK, Terry, Cahill, Bertrand, Mikel, Ramires, Fellaini, Schurrle, Moses, Lukaku, Ba

I'd say that's up there with the best.

So, that would be what I'd desire. We'll probably wind up getting some Championship keeper, Gomez and pay 40m for Fellaini, though.

You can't just buy a great team like Bayern. We have been together for years.

Yeah, I realise that, whereas Chelsea is mpre of a teambof indjvjduals. That's why I chose youthful players so that they may play together for years.

And I like Bender. He is very complete, lots of stamina, good defending and can contribute going forward. He's also better on the ball than most players who I'd consider for the defensive midfield spot.

Bender is an animal. Although he is not that strong this season, as he was the last two years. Also Kloppo prefers Gündogan on this position, who is not as tough physically, but with his creative intelligence and technical abilities more useful for Dortmunds philosophy and system. Bender ist mostly an destroyer.

Schürrle is very fast and a pretty good striker. The problem is he needs space on the pitch.

Bender worked better with Sahin, so when Sahin left, Bender lost his spot to Kehl. It is a shame, I was a huge Bender fan in that 10/11 season.

Where is Robben going to be next season? I really want him to go to AC Milan. Robben and Balotelli on the same team - the inevitable combination of brilliance, comedy, turbulence and insanity would be a fitting tribute to Berlusconi's political career.
