From what I've seen he seems to be more of a midfield engine. He seems to be more technically proficient than Ramires, but when I was watching him play he always reminded me of him in his style of play.

Ramires is a stupid player with no pause and a physical prodigy, Fernandinho is a playmaker. You compare them because they are both black and brazilian. Fernandinho looks more like De Rossi.

EDIT: Here a very good article about him

No way. I've seen a lot of De Rossi and in every CL game with Fernandinho and they are not similar at all. Fernandinho is more Marchisio than De Rossi, Ramires is the best comparison because the strength of Fernandinho is running from deep much like Ramires

Fernandinho has more pause and constructs moves more than Ramires because he's technically better than Ramires like we both said, it would be stupid of Ramires to try things he doesn't have the ability to perform well enough

Fernandinho is a whole different thing to Ramires, stupid Ramires only takes the ball and run forward, he is only useful in a team which defend with ALL his players and counter attack. Fernandinho is a dynamic base player who can generate advantage to his partners and beat opponent lines by pass, he is not at De Rossi level but similar style. It's not only about technique, when they take the ball Ramires choose the 4 or 5 best option and Fernandinho the best or second best.

Fernandinho would be an excellent purchase for every EPL team but Arsenal (Wilshere, Arteta)

Fernandinho has a more complete game than Ramires yes, but his most dangerous moments and greatest strength is when he plays similar to Ramires and burst forward into holes from man markers out of position

Cleverley is doubtful and Anderson is injured. I hope we don't play with Scholes/Giggs midfield again because we will lose. I'd prefer Fletcher-Carrick.

Well true, but De Gea also makes a lot of mistakes when coming out to claim the ball.
Lineups are out. One improvement to last season is definitely the inclusion of Valencia. Still can't get over the fact that he didn't play at the Etihad last season.

That was excellent ball control from Young. That's his second assist in a row. I hope he continues like that.

I started watching since the 23rd minute. I think we've been playing well considering its the Etihad Stadium. I'm not sure if its our defense doing very well or City's inefficient attack.

The balls out of defence from Evans have been good, as well as the passing from Cleverly/Carrick.
Carrick's ball before the second goal was brilliant.
Hope we retain the 2 goal advantage for as long as possible. City have been strong in the second half this season and if our defence is put under pressure then we'll struggle.

Yeah RvP was an important signing. He scores goals when we need them. Great goal today but Rooney deserves more credit in this game overall. He scored 2 goals and was helping in midfield and at the back. RvP was invisible other than that free-kick.

we concede so many goals ... 23 in 16 matches is terrible record.

I remember seasons that we ended the campaign with 22 or 24 conceded goals.

Kind of a throwback to 10 years ago where we focused on outscoring opponents with our strikeforce.
'99 37 goals conceded, '00 45 goals conceded etc

Not used to see that after Vidic-Rio partnership ...

They are good experience wise, but their age is showing. Evra and Rafael aren't the best defenders in my opinion. They play more as wing-backs.

What? RVP made at the very least 4 fantastic clearances at defensive set pieces,he set Young on his way with a perfect pass with his chest and for the 2nd goal the defenders felt it was better to cover areas from where the ball doesn't get to him. Also showed brilliant skill and technique to get that shot away which resulted in a goal that should have stood.

Van Persie is the best in the league.

Rooney could have stopped the Zabaleta goal if he wasn't so fat.

Kidding! Rooney was great and Young was very good as well as Cleverly had a decent game. Pretty much all of your players apart from Valencia-on the ball he was poor- had a good game-how one footed is this guy?

De Gea does seem like the potential best keeper in the league atm.

I seen people talk about Tevez kicking Jones... Then I realised no wonder, he got a mouth full of big phils elbow. Cant blame him.

Young was also brilliant. One of the best games he's had in a red top after doubting his ability before the game. He needs to keep that up.
