He's too slow and doesn't move well off the ball. You can't just sit in space and spray passes in the modern game. Or at least not as a #10. He could only play outside of Brazil if he became more of a regista.

Ball dictates the speed in football. Riquelme, Xavi, Pirlo... all of them very fast players.

Kroos is not faster than Ganso


EDIT: Dribbling is also one of Ganso's ability, he've got a good physical presence, dribbling, incredible technique (with both feet) and playmaking skills.

Ganso is too used to not being marked and given tons of space in Brazil. He can't handle professional pressing.
