Btw the opening scene with Te Deum (Eurovision anthem? xD) is Warsaw's stadium. Wow. (H)

finally an official tournament based fifa game is coming to PC again! But I'm torn. WC2010 was one of the best fifa titles I ever played. The atmosphere was amazing: animated fans, animated coaches, fireworks, confetti, flashlights from the ranks that go crazy when a goal is scored etc. ... all that is missing in fifa12, even in cups and tournament mode. I wonder: will EA put that in, or maybe just activate it again for the EURO2012? Or will they go the cheap way, and leave the game as it is, just put in stadiums, kits and new game modes? That would be a shame :-/

That expedition mode is really cool; but I would have liked to have seen qualifiers for the real tournament too, instead of just playing all non-qualified teams in either this "fantasy" mode or in friendlies. :(

Well, I have to admit that for the asking price and seeing as its a DLC and they openly admit there are no gameplay/engine changes (even though the engine to me for fifa12 compared to the past is solid enough), I cant see much of an issue.

Its no more than a milsim DLC with new skins/weapons and maps & game-play modes, otherwise your asking for engine changes and then, well ... its back to asking for "12.5" or something.

I was unsure until I realised they had updated commentary, also the expedition mode looks well presented and gives a more interesting way to play teams, even if they are non qualified also. Although I imagine it wouldn't make sense to have an "expedition" if you only find qualifying countries, I think the aspect on that mode is playing the world locations and map use than the actual tables, so you get to play all in a different mode approach to experience everything, which IMHO I think its a good thing for a change.

Also its seamlessly integrated into the Fifa12 UI, so no separate launch icons or clunky access.

I did notice that Origin store as lowered FIFA12 to pretty much the same price as the DLC at the moment, seems an obvious move, but makes you think ..... :)

One question I had and dont seem to see that it can be done ...... >>>

Does entering the DLC mode also incorporate "Be a pro" section? IE: can you play in this DLC as a pro at all? Or is it just straight up control of entire team?

Anyone know?

It also appears that pretty much half of teams which didn't qualify will be unliscenced. So for FIFA World Cup and seperate game all teams can be liscenced to have real players but for EURO DLC fake ones are ok?

This is the third time in a row for EURO games that there are unliscenced players. I'm really cut about this. :(

Just for this thread I found the Pro answer I was looking for here:

http://www.gamesradar.com/fifa-12-uefa-euro-2012-expansion-pack-hands-all-fanfare-now-dlc/

There's a tournament mode, as you'd expect, and you can play in online tournaments. But arguably the biggest draw (and weirdest, presentation-wise), is the new Expedition mode, in which you'll either import your FIFA 12 Virtual Pro or pick a European player, and build your own European national team (like our tiny nation of Nuovo Italia, captained by Andrea Pirlo) to compete against real-world countries

Some expedition mode footage from gamespot:

this is the release date for PC?

Based in UK, I checked origin store and didnt see it? Currently 10:30 AM, is it via login of origin from desktop? Cant log in at the moment, oh well sure enough it will appear, no biggie.

BTW for those saying EA rob and so on, I have seen some cash cow antics in my time (and from EA), although this doesn't seem to bear much of a resemblance to it. Then again you dont have to purchase anything (9/10 people shout that and have crack copies anyway) ...

Its simply a case of "is it worth it to you?" ... if not dont worry about it. I came from fifa 2008 which played bad & didnt look like console with stutters (PC), gave up, never bothered with a football game again until I noticed fifa12 and its come a loooong way & was happy to purchase (after testing the demo). This DLC has enough in it to last, plus the tournament coming up to run a long side, for me that's £15 (give or take) I could spend in moments just to drive around for a bit on fuel, theres far worse rip off's at the moment, just step out the door and shop, pay a bill & drive.

EDIT:

http://www.ea.com/soccer/euro12/buy

At 11:50 AM UK time it only lists console from the download now section of the site, I can imagine the roll out will delay becuase maybe they are warey of hacks/edits on PC so roll out consoles first to get the purchases and PC last?

Seems that 8:00AM time was for consoles at the moment, then again technically today doesn't end until midnight so they can roll it out anytime today.
