So which player is going to be the standout in the comp? These things always seem to throw up a young up & comer that all the big teams rush to sign...
I actually dont know anything about the young talent this year...... will be interesting though. Seems like it's usually the youngsters rather than the established stars which steal this competition.

Anyway, the real reason I replied is that I bet I'm the only person on here that gets your username/location (H)

The only thing better than that video itself was the reaction to it on Have I Got News For You, did you see that?

On the one hand I would like to see Demba play as little as possible on those pitches and Senegal to get knocked out as soon as possible.

But if he marched into Gabon and Equat. Guinea, raped every team with his goal scoring prowess and won the thing almost single handedly... that would be amazing.

really looking forward to Zed's match later today ... not bullish about the potential outcome against Senegal, but will be good to watch a full 90 after a while ...

wow! amazing result! and a fairly organized, if not impressive, performance ... chuffed to bits!

Rainford Kalaba was really impressive, should have gotten a couple of goals today.
two years on, and he turns up again on the continent's big stage ...

good to see Mayuka get himself noticed too; with Ema Mbola out suspended, if anyone could earn a big-money move to the big leagues after this tournament from this squad, it'd have to be him ...

that said, Chisamba Lungu, who's been converted from creative TQ to an attacking RWB, may make a name for himself too; he looked the genuine article at times in that match ...

after pulling off the shock win in the opening match, it would now be a shock to not win the group (and thus surely avoid CIV in the quarters) ... I can already hear all the medal talk back home growing that much louder ...

Lungu is one of the most common Romanian surnames, I didn't know other nationalities had that name. It translates to long. (adj m)

Just watched Ghana really struggle to a 1-0 win over Botswana..... why is it that the teams you would expect to waltz through this tournament always seem to struggle?

Zambia looks like they'll avoid CIV and likely make the semis now. The football here has been pretty good IMO a lot better than the last tournament.

so, group won, and first mission accomplished ... the only concern now is maintaining humility ...

Yeah, but as Sir_Didier_Drogba said, in this Tournament you never know. I'd almost put money on Zambia to advance against the Ivorians.

Probably get decent odds..... actually regular, heavy betting on the ACN would be awesome.

Having said that I do think there is a chance that this year Ivory Coast might finally realize their potential....
