The fact that I go on livescore and see that we scored 3 goals in injury time kind of helps to soothe the pain from all the Fergie time goals we conceded to you ****s in the past few years.

About the final result, Fergie stated he was shocked at the immaturity shown by the likes of Evra and Ferdinand at the end of the game. At 3-1, you had a little spark and attacked with some belief, but at 4-1 you'd think "okay, not our day" and sit back a bit but they kept pressing on and attacking which made goals 5 and 6 so incredibly easy.

And be glad it wasn't 8, 9 or even 10, because we certainly had the chances (Dzeko alone could have had 4 or 5 if he wasn't so ******* wasteful).

sigh, the result, although flattering to Man ****ty, is a real embarrassment. I just hope Fergie can use it to his advantage. i dont think we have ever lost by so much under fergie.

Help?

There will be some positives from this believe me. Don't think it will be easy for City to keep up this high for long either.

A defeat is a defeat, a big defeat is sometimes less painful than a 0-1 loss. We've been beat by our closest rivals before in the league, like in 99 - 00 season, we lost 0-5 to pre-Roman Chelsea but went to win the league by almost 20 points. So yeah blah blah blah...BUT IT WAS ******* MAN CITY, ******* BLUE ****S WHO BELONG TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!

The smile will stay on City fans' faces until we rape them on their own ****ty stadium.

Actually we were flailing somewhere in 5th or 6th position that season. Nowhere near being your closest rival during that time.

Yeah but weren't you third at the time, though? Was in october too, so pretty early in the season. No one thought you'd fail so bad at the end, so you were one of our closest rivals at the the time, lol.

O dear... what a game. Could be a blessing in disguise though. We really are lacking in midfield.

Didn't think we were doing too badly till we had a man sent off. We dominated the start of the game.

Good job Chelsea lost, were still Second.

I hope to God Man City don't get kicked out the Champions league else they will focus on the prem. We could be in trouble then if they don't start losing games.

But still, nothing to worry about, we just overextended. It could of gone two ways, we could of pulled a few goals back... like we could of done and have done many times before or leave ourselves open to the counter attack.

To loose 6-1 at home was embarassing.Evans should never be at united.suprised me that fergie picked him ahead of jones and smalling. But atleast united didnt sit back and just defend

We were in the CL that year in which we made it to the QFs, and our squad wasn't big enough to compete on all fronts. But we still won the FA Cup, but in the league that season we were inconsistent which was our downfall.

I posted my views on the City game here:

I am on vacation so I didn't even watch the game. When I checked the scoreline I was like holy **** WTF happened. Can't really comment on the game because I did not watch it but Evans being sent off at 45 minutes certainly made it easier for City coupled with horrible defending from Ferdinand and Evra. The scoreline would not be 1-6 if we were not playing with 10 men for half of the game.

Heard we kept attacking despite being 3 down and got caught on the counter attack for the last few goals. Most teams would be playing with 9 men defending at this stage.

Anyway United will recover from it, as we did when we lost 5-0 at Old Trafford to Chelsea in the late 90s. Sometimes we need a big kick in the ass and I think it was the right time.

I still think its way to early to stupidly claim that "City is going to win the next 5 EPL titles" like what Horatiu said. We have 29 more games to go and City's form won't last forever.

One of the most disappointing days as a United fan for sure, together with that 4-1 defeat against Pool at the OT and the 5-0 loss against Chelsea in the 90s.

Anyway, Andershot tonight. Hopefully the youngsters Pogba, Fryers, Macheda, Diouf etc will play some part.

I really enjoyed the match today. It's nice to see the other players in action to see what they're capable of. The most interesting performance was Pogba's for me. I really hope he develops well. His build really gives him a good chance of succeeding.

Amos also looked very assured (anyone know how old he is?). It's good to see all three keepers being given runouts this season. Morrison had good touches, too.
Cleverly has recovered well, I hope we can see him partnering Anderson in the middle of park again soon.

On another note, I'm not too sure about Diouf. It doesn't look like he can make the grade.

Overall, a very enjoyable evening of football.

scraped through vs Everton... were certainly lacking something at the moment and i'm sure the problem lies in midfield.

Looks like your rigging of draws in the CL group stages has rubbed off onto the Carling Cup. Arse-City, Chelsea-Pool, United-......Crystal Palace. Typical (H)

well Ole just won molde a league title... first time in their history in his first season as manager

Few more of them and we can start some wishful thinking for next united manager :D 20legend

Never thought he would do it in his first year. Awesome for him. Thats a wonderful achievement. I always thought the best case scenario would be having an ex-United player as Ferguson's successor. Someone who carry on the same kind of philosophy. I don't want United to become like Madrid where the manager change every season or 2 and sell all the youngsters in favour of stars. Ole, Giggs and Neville are players I think are capable of becoming good managers but we said the same about Keane and look at what happened to him. You never know.

Senior Squad
Very true, but Ole is now starting to prove himself. Few more titles... perhaps a different league with a title and he could work out. Problem is SAF will have probably already retired?

another less then impressive win but I guess were getting the results... cant complain. I fear when we hit a decent team.

Yeah disappointing game. We should be winning these games easily. We struggled to score and the second goal was from a massive deflection. What happened to our form at the beginning of the season?

Rooney was excellent in central midfield. He was like Scholes, making 60 yard passes. But seriously, we'd be stupid if we played him in midfield. He is the kind of player who shouldn't have to worry about defensive duties. We'd be wasting him in midfield when his natural position is up front.

Instead of wasting Rooney in midfield, we should buy a good CM then play Rooney up front.
