Argentina: COLOSSAL disappointment

Argentina: COLOSSAL disappointment
I please ask for the forgiving of Argentinian people or fans in advance...or every other Argentinian football fan. But I don't know if it's just me...did you notice that EVERYTIME an Argentinian team gets some spot they become the most arrogant asses in the planet?

Argentina's atitude today wasn't basicly too diferent of Nigeria '98. Oh man, those guys were really faces to punch. After the incredible win over Mexico they felt like they were the biggest thing on earth. And the fact that ArtVega claimed that Argentina would win the World Cup didn't help much in their construction of a more modest, centered (and necessary since their game needed more calm and ponderation on the pitch) personality, in the contrary.

Macherano, Tevez...I could come with a long list of truly snob brazillian players here. And I could focus on Higuain, because...well, he really thinks he's the thing. But the ENTIRE Argentina team is just so mean and nasty. And their attitude at the end of the game, trying to take germanys key players with them as they had to risk to be sent off...that's typical for dutch players, when they're losing to Germany. But it's ok for them, it's their modus operandi, they're Germany's rivals. However, these guys really thought they could face Germany, they could match up with Germany! They thought they were playing a classic!

I always eager to watch an argentinian team play in a WC but I never desired so badly that an argentinian team get its ass kicked like I. Argentina in this Cup. I'd love to see their supreme humiliation by getting beaten by Germany, and they did!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

Sorry couldn't resist

I got the joke son, i just couldn't resist.

Now you know what it means to stick it to another culture and than get a taste of your own medicine.

You should have known better than oppening the thread before the Argentina - Germany game. (H)

I hate Argentina, and I agree that usually they resort to this sort of thing, but today they did not do it at all. In the last 20 minutes I thought they were clean and respectful. And to be honest, as someone who prides himself on a very German, "stoic" kind of game, I probably would have made a lot more unfair challenges than Argentina made. Not intentionally of course, but when you're behind 2-0 and especially 3-0, you need to do everything. If it was me, I probably would have been sent off... not because of malice, although I'm sure it would have looked like it on camera, but because I would have gone for many hard challenges even when it was impossible to get the ball cleanly. To be honest, I thought the Argies were too timid after the 2nd goal, they had so much fire in them, and after Klose scored the 2nd it left all of them. I'd rather get sent off for trying too hard than finish the game on the field after getting embarrassed for 20 minutes.

Looks like you would be an real asshole on the pitch. Makes no sense to me. To me a great player is respectful and calm in victory and defeat. Losing your temper is more embarrassing than losing to a at that day better team and admit that.

Argentina sucked ballz. They only played good against ****ty teams in the group phase, and the referee practically gave them the game in the round of 16, but when they faced a real team of hierarchy and class they **** their pants. (H)

Actually, I only got a handful of cards in my entire playing career. Definitely less than 10 in 10 years. It's just that I don't want to go out getting embarrassed, so I would have left it all on the pitch and REALLY tried. Like I said, I wouldn't have any malice for the other players, but perhaps I would have tried a little too hard to make something happen, resulting perhaps in a late challenge.

Take out Maradona hes an idiot. Also pop Zenneti, Lucho, Aimar, Cambiasso and Riquelme back into the side.

Argentina was given a hero's welcome by their fans, when they returned to Buenos Aires. The fans were particularly supportive of Maradona......they seem to want him to stay. He should have worked with several clubs(either South American or European) BEFORE considering the national team coaching position. As many people have said on here and elsewhere, his lack of experience showed.

If he stays for another 4 years, he would be learning at the national team level where there would be more pressure than at the club level.

Their team got hammered and had no answer for it. I don't know why the fans are so happy for them like that.....

Maradona paid the price for not bringing Cambiasso. He's the world's best DM!

Maxi was terrible against the Germans and Di Maria had a poor tornament. In fact, the game against Germany was his best game. He looked decent cutting-in from the right side. Demichelis is better off as a DM. He was lucky the Samaras didn't score in the Greece game. It was incredible that Messi didn't score. Higuain score four but I would have liked to have seen Milito start. Tevez works hard but he was a ball-hog at times.

I think if Maradona was more gutsy not to play certain superstars, and if he was more conservative this formation would have worked better:

-------------------Romero--------------------
----------------------------------------------
---Zanetti----Samuel----Demichelis---Heinze---
----------------------------------------------
-M.Rodriguez-Mascherano-Cambiasso-Di Maria--
----------------------------------------------
--------------Milito---------Messi-------------

or

-------------------Romero---------------------
-----------------------------------------------
---Zanetti----Samuel----Demichelis---Heinze---
-----------------Cambiasso--------------------
------------Veron------Mascherano------------
-----Messi--------------------------Aguero----
-------------------Milito-----------------------

Romero
Zanetti-Samuel-Milito-Heinze
Mascherano-Cambiasso
Banega
Messi-Tevez
Milito

EDIT: I'm suggesting an Inter kind of formation, but Banega withdrawn a little more than Sneijder.
