England are missing key players at certain positions.. Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard are great players hands down; but they have james, upson, barry and milner at that team as well.. I'm not saying they are bad players, they are decent players but that's all to it.. no team would go any further than quarter finals if they have emile heskey for saving the day..

What's so infuriating about Heskey is that we have players like Bent who scored 25 bloody goals, there's Defoe too and if we need a big point man we got that 9ft bean pole that you just cant miss. He also has distinct ability at scoring for England. Heskey scored 5 bloody goals and 7 in two years :icon_spin: stress!

Capellos consistently made odd call ups.

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long
Yellow Card
Lampard, Terry, Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand ALL have one more tournament left in them - EURO 2012. All 4 of them will likely not be starting at the same time but they should all be picked for that tournament.

After that, they should start dismantling the England team.

Everyone is equally to blame for this except Rooney!! If they had cloned Rooney and had him playing every position this would have never happened.. camon Roo

Totally agreed. Especially after the fact that he had a fantastic world cup with lots of goals and an exceptionally high pass completion rate in the last match..

Over-reliance in the so-called English world beaters, who in the matter of fact are nothing short of decent at best playing in international level - aka Lennon, Barry, Milner, Upson, Johnson.

Some gems that have been circulating in the English press over the last couple of weeks:

What is the difference between England and a teabag?

The teabag stays longer in the cup.

The England team went to visit an orphanage in SA this morning. "It's so good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly struggling and facing the impossible", said Jamal Omboto, aged 6.

My computer's been infected by the Robert Green virus. Now I can't save anything.

Apparently that fan had no trouble slipping into the England dressing room – Robert Green was guarding the door

I washed my England shirt the other day.
Went to get it off the line when it was dry and some thieving bastard had stolen the clothes pegs.

I can't believe we only managed a draw against a rubbish team we should easily have beaten. . . . I’m ashamed to call myself Algerian.

Rihanna and Emile Heskey are now dating. She said "I'm happy to be with a man that I know cannot beat anyone."

England's Heroes Return Home
When the English Football Team flew home, they arrived to a rapturous welcome at the airport. Thousands of fans clapped, cheered and waved flags as the team disembarked from the plane.
Fabio Capello, the coach, was smiling as he told the waiting reporters. "I am delighted to be in Scotland and very happy that the plane was diverted to Glasgow Airport".

Fabio Capello was wheeling his shopping trolley across the supermarket car park when he noticed an old lady struggling with her bags of shopping. He stopped and asked, "Can you manage dear?" To which the old lady replied, "No way. You got yourself into this mess, don't ask me to sort it out!"

Osama Bin Laden appeared in a new TV message proving he is still alive. He said, 'The English football team were #@%!$ again'. British intelligence have dismissed it, saying this statement could have been recorded at any time in the last 44 years.

Imagine what will happen to the English NT in 4-5 years. Hardly any young talents emerging. Just very average players. What will happen when Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand retire? Rooney will be the only one left. He'll be surrounded by players like Huddlestone, Shawcross, C. Cole, Mancienne etc. Lennon, Walcott, Agbonlahor or A. Johnson are nothing special TBH.

As someone said, England lack players at some crucial positions. You can't be serious if you think a team with Heskey can win the WC. He's not even good enough for the Championship or Coca cola league 1 let alone the World Cup! England badly lack a great striker, a holding midfielder, a GK and wingers who can actually cross. They also badly lack depth. They have Upson and Carragher as backups when Ferdinand or Terry is injured for instance. You can't win the WC with a team like that.
