So it seems the break was so timely for your team, hun?

Lots of credit to Chelsea's performance, no Essian, Drogba, Kalou, Mikel.

Great showing against a poor Sunderland team. Quick passing and incisive movement on and off the ball from the lads. Was a brilliant game to watch for the Chelsea fans and the neutrals, we've had 30+ attempts at goal and around 72% of the ball, great performance.

Belletti did well at holding midfield, but we need someone quick and younger against the high tempo footballing teams like Arsenal and Utd. Anelka masterclass, enough said. At the heart of almost every goal. Nice solo goal on the weaker foot by Malouda, his shot took me by suprise tbh. :D

Overall, everyone in Chelsea colours played well. Joe Cole slowly is finding his form, looks like he needs a goal to boost his confidence even further, nevertheless if he continues on like this, he'll surely be back to his best again.

Essien suffered a knee injury at the Nations cup. This is bad news for Chelsea, since he could miss EPL and Champions league.

Essien is out for about 6 weeks after a small tear between his meniscus and ligaments. J. Cole, and Malouda are on the bench for tomorrow's FA Cup encounter with Fergie Jr. and his Preston side. Unfortunately I wont be able to see it since I'm going into DC in the morning.

We strolled to 2-0, Sturridge scored, although I wouldn't get too excited, it wasn't much of a goal. Still, hope it does him good.

Drogba and Kalou are out of the ACN, so they should be back in a week or so, I'd say. Hope Mikel wins it, otherwise, let him get knocked out tomorrow. Belletti had to subbed against Preston, and if he's injured, we'd only have Deco, Matic and Ballack to play in the holding-mid role. That might sound like a great choice, but I don't think Deco is suited for that role, Matic has barely featured and I prefer giving Ballack more attacking liberties.

Even worse, Lamps came off early, too.

In other news, we're one of few big clubs left at the FA cup, doing well in the league, and Inter will be tough, but we can handle 'em, hopefully Essien will be back soon.

C'mon Blues, let's something something to victory.

Drogba will be coming back(with Kalou). Obviously its unfortunate that the Ivory Coast has been knocked out but at least he'll be coming back unscathed.

actually, towards the end of the Algeria match, Drogba went down and stayed down ... I know that for Drogs that doesn't necessarily imply an injury (or even a foul) -- he just likes going down (H) -- but I still wouldn't be too sure he's back unscathed ...

Belletti's out for a month.

Carlo has stated that we'll be fielding this squad against Birmingham tomorrow:

Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Ivanovic, Cole, Ballack, Deco, Lampard, Cole, Malouda, Anelka

**** Brum, let's end their run.

to be honest, Ivanosic's so effective for you. He can play in many positions, he's fit most of the time and he's a hard worker.

when Drogba and Kalou will come back?

Carlo has said that they could be back for Sunday.

Ivanovic's is this year's revelation for us. I nearly got an Iva shirt recently, actually. When Bosingwa comes back I think he'll push Iva to become the best RB in the world. He's such a hard-worker, I think he'll be there within a year. He's still very much a converted CB, but he's improved a lot in attack and has gotten a few assists already. He's also shown that he can dribble and run.

Best RB in the league, right now.

+ he can score important goals as well.

I'm really impressed by his dribbling improvement.

btw, there was a scientific sport program today. The host mentioned Lampard as a player who can analyse a situation and make the best decision in a fastest time.
