WC qualification Round 15: Argentina vs. Brazil [P/R]

MaestroZidane

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
so much for messi +10...

Brazil are getting back to their old ways and seem to have found their rhythm, which is scary for those that fall in their group once the world cup comes around.

Historically, Brazil and Argentina are tough, violent games. Today was tame compared to others.

It was only the second defeat Argentina has suffered in the qualifiers at home.

and the funnier thing is the thread poll right now, it was 5-4 for Argentina right before the match.

That is why the Poll end date and time should be just when the Match starts. The Match ended on 6th September and you put the end date as 8th September....

Is that Veron in the middle? If so, what the **** is he still doing on the NT?

And Maradona's just not manager material, Argentina are going nowhere with him in charge. At least Datolo's goal was a screamer.

Yes Datolo's goal was fantastic, I don't care about Portugal but I hope Argentina qualifies, without Messi & co World Cup will loose some attentions and excitement.

The downside of this victory for Brazil is that once again it hides some of the team's problems:
André Santos is the best LB we have?
Gilberto Silva?
Will Robinho return to form?

I do believe that André Santos is the best option for the LB. Personally I don't like Gilberto Silva, I think that for the World Cup he should be replaced.
As for Robinho, I don't like him. He plays 1 good match and then plays poorly for 5 matches. I think Kleber from Cruzeiro and Nilmar deserve more chances. Or maybe take Robinho out of the team and put Diego to play along with Kaká, with only Luis Fabiano upfront.

Filipe luis is better than andré santos, but dunga is weird, i guess fenerbache player in better in defensive terms.

Filipe Luis is a nobody. We only heard of him in the last couple of months.
Truth be told, he could be the solution. No one remembered Felipe Melo until Dunga called him and he kicks ass.

I still hope for Fabio Aurelio, he is very consistent at Liverpool.

The Von Trapps
I'm glad Argentina lost because of the Lippi-esque selection policy and decision making employed by El Diego: calling up disaster players like Burdisso, but not considering players like Pipita Higuaín, and Cuchu Cambiasso (he is injured at the moment, I know, but he has not been called up since Maradona), and instating Mascherano as captain when Pupi Zanetti is there ...

but I'm too happy with Brazil winning either ... Brazil are expected to not just win, but winning playing that fantasy joga bonito style that has enthralled fans and neutrals alike in decades past ... this current team's "effective" style is ugly compared to that ideal, and it is sad to see that this is what they call "modern football" ...

He is a nobody. Nothing wrong with that. We export 800 players every year.
Dunga has to call him for tests, but I believe the list has some people ahead of him.
