My situation isn't quite as "bad" as Tom's was. I do like to do new things and have no problem with it. Just that I'm pretty much everybody's friend, but nothing more. One of my female friends just recently, on a night of drinking, asked me if I liked girls, and wondered why I haven't had a girlfriend when I answered yes.
