Maybe its Gallas himself but he's just too daft to realize it himself....:D
Really, when yer team is unrest on and off the pitch the last you need to do is have your captain come out and reveal the age of the person who should be blamed for Arsenal's shortcomings to the media?

I hate to say I told you so but.....I told you so.:innocent_smile_1:

Gallas is and always has been a self centered prick, a big mouth and perhaps a little mentally unstable. We Chelsea fans were ribbed a lot when Gallas defected to Arsenal, with silly comments about Arsenal getting the best end of the Gallas/Cole saga.

I don't think that argument is up for debate any longer. Gallas is a liability and is not as good as he thinks he is. Whereas Cole is playing out of his skin for us and is a popular member of the Chelsea squad.

Gallas has now been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy by Wenger. He also is not travelling to Manchester tonight for the game tommorow. I would guess he threw his dummy out of the pram after being stripped of the armband, and simply refused to travel. Although Wenger will probably tell us that he has a muscle strain or something similar.

Maybe he threatened to score an own goal if Wenger insisted on playing him. Whatever, I think Gallas' days at Arsenal are coming to an end. He will not be able to live with the humiliation of being publicly stripped of the armband, and knowing the twat that he is, I would imagine he has already told Wenger that he wants out.

Gallas' will still be left with a problem. Which club in their right minds would employ such an average player with such a big head and an even bigger mouth.

I'm sure you lot will understand the reasons why I am rubbing my hands together over all this. They are all reasons that you must be aware of, and the fact that Wenger thought he was worth getting in the first place, and then decided to make him captain of Arsenal, just goes to show what a massive error of judgement he has made in all this.

Arsene knows? All he seems to know these days is that he will not be winning anything for yet another season.

Honestly how the fu<k the club and the fans put up with such a situation is way beyond me. 2 or 3 good seasons at the beginning and since then NOTHING. That is not good enough.

Perhaps when Villa or some other club nick that 4th spot this season, then maybe it might begin to sink in that Wenger, unless he abandons his misguided utopian dream and begins to sort things out properly, is taking Arsenal nowhere.

I initially didn't believe it when our club said Gallas claimed he would score an own goal if he didn't have his way with us.
Its looking more and more likely he did after recent events. Its mixed feelings really, this guy contributed massively for our club, but he's an Arsenal player now.
Looks like Wenger's tired of his antics, he paid the price for running his mouth to the press.
As the saying goes, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" Gallas clearly has an attitude problem, one that may stay for the rest of his footballing career, and Arsenal have to do without him if they want keep the team together.

You'd have to believe that the chances of hanging on to Fabregas are getting worse now......there's still time to turn it around though.

Dump Gallas.

Van Persie and Bendtner were just hopeless up front for us today. Absolutely non existent and just breathed no life into the team, especially Bendtner, I don't want to see him start again for a while. Denilson and Song were also poor as was Hoyte although I'm assuming he was nervous. Aside from them I thought the team played well, granted the first goal was Clichy's fault, but it was just a silly mistake. Their second was well played with the timing of the pass and the third was so irrelevant I won't even talk about it. I'm a believer in a good offense makes a good defense, so when our strikers are so non existent our defense will have lots of chances to make mistakes.

Now to the bigger problems. I stand by Wenger and where he has taken this club. Where has he taken the club? He's got us seven trophies in I think eleven seasons, but he's also made us continually in contention for the Premiership and were now a big club in Europe. So no Pede it wasn't two or three good years in the beginning it was more than that. And you also can't say we definitely won't win anything this year. Liverpool were dreadful in the league when they won the Champions League as were we when we reached the final.

As to where Wenger can take us in the future, well the starting lineups he's been putting out for me just aren't good enough. Either he'll have to sit some players who seem to somehow always start, or he'll have to spend money. Actually he needs to do both. Even if everyone is healthy we still lack a quality dm, DONT SAY DENILSON, and unless he starts playing Djourou more I think we lack strength and height in the back. For the short term future lets get Fabregas and Adebayor back, play Djourou again, sit Denilson, Bendtner, and Silvestre and hopefully that can get us a win.

Wenger joined Arsenal in October 1996.

IN 1997-1998 season, Arsenal won the league and FA Cup.

Seasons 98-99 and 2000-2001 Arsenal won nothing.

In 2001-2002 season, Arsenal won the league and the FA Cup.

In 2002-2003 season, Arsenal won the FA cup and the Community shield.

In 2003-2004 season, Arsenal won the league.

In 2004-2005 season, Arsenal won the FA cup.

So Wenger has been in place at Arsenal for 12 years, and has won something in five out of 12 seasons. Thats seven seasons out of twelve when nothing was won, including the last four seasons which have been fruitless.

Even if you ignore the fact that he inherited a fine experienced squad of players when he arrived, and needed to do very little for his first few seasons, his record is good. Although I have to say that if most good managers were given 12 years to manage a club, I would suppose that they would also enjoy a similar success as Wenger has.

He has done nothing now though for four seasons, and unless Arsenal win the CL this season which is doubtful, Arsenal will have gone 5 seasons without a trophy.

Now if Arsenal stick with Wenger, then thats no skin off my nose at all. Long may he remain I say. He can stay there forever for all I care, but how long are the fans willing to wait for success in the future. Another 5 seasons? I shouldn't think so.

He needs to admit to himself that his philosophy for building a winning team for the EPL is seriously flawed. His stubborness in refusing to see the shortcomings of his ideal team, made up of young, inexperienced and naive players has seen exposed as a joke now. Sure they entertain you lot with pretty pretty passing, but in real life, football is more than that.

It's about winning things when you are regarded as a "big" club. Not just banging on all the time about what has been won in the past, that's history and it's gone. What is more important is what's being done right now and in the future.

I just think that the future under Wenger does not look to bright any longer. I doubt that he will change his way of doing things, so that leaves me to think that Arsenal will continue to plod on for seasons to come, just waiting for the day that it all falls into place. If it ever does.

Still, it's your club mate not mine, and if you are happy with the way things are then thats cool.

I know a lot of gooners though who do not feel happy, and it will not be long before those fans begin to let Wenger know on match days exactly how they feel. Many fans do not believe in him any longer, and they think that his time is up. Their numbers are increasing as each week passes by. It doesn't look good mate.

Hehe I like the heart and soul you put in caring about Arsenal mate, I don't give a crap about Benfica for instance...

Well all this is really no good for my dads state of health, or his state of mind. Usually you can't shut him up yapping about Arsenal all the time, but today he hasn't mentioned football once.

I did mention the words "William Gallas" once, but he just looked at me with death in his eyes, and sensing my insincere sympathy simply told me to "Fu<k Off".

I took his advice. I didn't want to spend the day with a depressed gooner. (Y)

YYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Thought we defended well and showed maturity to hold the lead for the rest of the match. I want to see Djourou more often despite the own goal. Obviously Van Persie had two great finishes and I thought Sagna and Clichy were both superb. Imo that should be our line up, just put Diaby in for Denilson or put Diaby in for Song and play Eboue instead of Denilson.
Its ironic that Van Persie scored the offside goal as I remember our match a few years ago at Highbury when Mourinho managed Chelsea, when Van Persie put us ahead, but it was wrongly called offside and we went on to lose 2-0. That doesn't justify the offside goal today it's just sweet irony for us Arsenal fans.

Yeh we've been denied a few goals this season, due to dodgy decisions. This result will mean nothing if we don't back it up next week.

Adebayor makes such a difference to the team and the sooner Walcott gets back the better. Eboue gets injured and Denilson feels that he needs to replace him. I hate divers, especially when it has become a weekly thing for Denilson, he should get dropped just for that.
