OK, after 4 matches, some notes: (excuse me for my poor english, my mother tongue is spanish and some terms I don´t know how to translate them to english)
Ball Physics---PERFECT
Net Physics---PERFECT
Game Speed---PERFECT (slower than PES2008...now you have 1 nanosec more to plan your next move)
Pinball Effect---almost 0 (no more pressing X like a maniac
)
Penalties---First time I saw computer´s goalkeeper stopping a penalty standing in the middle of the frame (in PES2008 all the penalties to the middle of the frame are 100% goals
)
Computer using Through Ball---PERFECT....had 3 goals against because beautiful TB done by computer´s midfields at the back of my central defenders .....WOW

Hi all,
theres only one thing i wana touch on,
looks like konami had fixed the graphics so that i can run on low end systems.
For those users with low end computers, they shld probably play with nice graphics and all, not like pes 2008 where u will play with an empty stadium and the jerseys of the players are all shadeless. I think konami has done a good job on this one. even tho its on low detail, i can see the crowds animations superbly done and the jersey shadows of the players moving according to the lighting and the movements perfectly. In terms of gameplay and all, no complaints. no game is perfect, but pes 2009 is definitely better than the previous pes 2008.

my first impression is that its definately better than PES2008 - its not perfect.
goalkeepers are still not that great
Speed is slower which is more realistic
Dribbling is still too easy - I shouldn't be able to always run from one side of the pitch to the other...these kind of runs should be rare.
Shooting looks like its got harder therefore much better than the arcadey shooting in PES2008

I've been following other forums as well and people reported the fact that PES 2009 has been working better than PES6 on their systems with the same configurations. That means Konami finally managed to well optimize the game for our PC's. I think this is great.
My impressions about the game is mostly positive. Very entertaining and plays like real football. You can actually make plays! The pace is perfect.
One thing I don't like is the stupid GK's. They are absolutely better than last year's crap but still needs some work! Hopefully(I doubt) they will be fixed in the final release.
I give 9 out of 10
PS: Forgot to mention about the looks of the game. The visuals are outstanding in the game! The grass is so real!!! Trust me these comments are coming from a pretty picky guy

Physics are great: the way the ball moves, the player runs and how they interact with the ball... (9/10)
Nice Graphics: much more realistic than before. (9/10)
Controls:The 'C' button (AKA 'RT') is more effective, specially for slowing down the player. but I think the overall control system is very old and need recreation - look at FIFA09- (8/10)
Menus are $#@%&: simple menu, but simplicity at some point becomes noobicity. colors of the menu and the background looks weird. a 1st year graphics student would do a much better job (6/10)
AI:In general I don't play much against the AI, most of my matches are vs human, I played 2 games with AI, they end 0 - 0 both, but i likes the way my players move with me . (--/10)
Others: -When players are getting in the stadium you hear a horrible music !!
-The Ref still has many bugs: * finishes the game at any moment. * No foul is given if the ball is outside the pitch.
- Not all transfers are included.
Last word: Great !, but needs a lot of patching !! (8/10)

controls terrible in pes2009
the game does look pretty and i like the slow speed
but the control system is crap
not instinctive like seabass thought
stupid idea! d pad doing all!
i am a die hard pes fan but i think i just died .....fifa controls and looks are much improved! trick moves are fast and feel real ...like changing direction
also the actual animations are better in fifa despite the pes graphics being better
the worst thing about pes is the horrible looking motion of players running
they look like the skating or floatiing

it annoyed me so much that i actually stopped playing the demo and went back to fifa demo

I agreed with him about the through balls cuz i tried fifa 09 and the through balls are just not perfect. its precision is missing i guess. u cant pass exact place u want in fifa 09.
well, its just my opinions since i dont side either games as i play both of them.

I played PES 2009 demo and saw Fifa 09 in action (but didn't play it). And I have to say, PES 2009 is the winner.
Fifa 09 surprised me. The amount of moves is amazing, and the graphics are stunning. Still, the gameplay seems unrealistic. The players look like dolls in the field, they just don't move. It a big flaw since Fifa 2004.
PES 2009 is all I wanted. A PES 2008 without the overwhelming speed it had. Still, it didn't change much. However, it's still the best. While Fifa 09 is scripted, PES 09 isn't. No game is equal to the one before... It's the only game that give what reality soccer gives.
And after you score a goal, it's like you yell 'till no tomorrow. Just like 5 years ago, when I tried PES3. Yesterday I played a match where I was losing to R.Madrid 0-1 with Liverpool and made 2-1 in the last 5 minutes. Who saw me in the moment would think I am crazy.
And that never happened to me in Fifa.

Pes is full of bull*** it isnt football if you ever played football you know what i meant or you have your eyes covered with fanaticsm.
Shooting with outside of the boot isnt an ability for a footballer!!! Every footballer can shoot via outside of the boot.
Even if your player has that skill he doesnt use it.
You would fall down or at least lean back to pass 30-40 meters even thou you must take a few steps back to create that tension, it isnt something like just putting your foot under the ball thing like pes.
You get no response while ball is at midair (below chest - above foot) you can try it they will wait for the ball to get to the ground. For the fu*k sake where is volleys ??!?
Keeper saves nearly all the 1 on 1 shoots inside of p.a.
I can count many many of this sensational mistakes and prove them.
So please please please dont call this game football it is something else japanese game programmers create what i would call foot billiards. Rating this game perfect or even good as a football game is absurd dont make yourselves look dumb.
