Well, we are in group D, with Liverpool, Marseille and PSV. I think that is the hardest group.

Aupa Atléti!

Zenit have been rubbish after the European Championships.....they're are shadow of their former(Arshavin) selves. Juve and Real will have NO PROBLEMS going through......

Im not afraid of anyone's play in our group other than Juve, a winning team with a winning mentality, but so are we....I am concerned however, about having to travel both to Russia and Bielorussia, during the later months of the year....not only are those trips ridiculously long, but the pitches dont hold up as well and the environment is hostile as all get out....If we can come out of this group strongly, I like our chances of La decima; if we come out limping then its going to be same ol same ol

Zenit are beating ManU in the SuperCup right now...

Arshavin subbed in at halftime. Does this mean he's ineligible to play in the Champions League with another team, should he be sold?

I think he can play for another club because I'm pretty sure they don't register players to the European Supercup. It's also a one-match competition, what would be the point of banning a player from playing for two matches if it's a one-time match?

Zenit looked dangewrous, btw, especially with nice combinations and a lot of flair from Danny. But they also tired themselves out, so persistence and patience seems to be the key against them. Both Madrid and Juve should be able to beat them if they learn from ManU's mistake.

I think a player can only be cup tied if he plays in any stage of the CL or UEFA Cup. Intertoto and Super Cup don't count.

Come again? They were fantastic today, made Man United look juvenile for 70 out of the 90 minutes. It could of easily had been 3-1 had Danny not missed that sitter in the latter stages. I think Zenit can definitely make it out of their group.

Problem is, as we saw, they lost steam in the last stages opf the match, and considering these gorup stages will be happening at the end of their league run, chances are they won't be at their best. I'd still rather see them go through, though.

If they can score 2 goals (or more, see UEFA Cup run last season) before the run out of steam on a regular basis then I think they'll do just fine

Super Cup.....yeah, that's a big fish alright....NOT!!! Sorry but FC Zenit St. Petersburg will not be making it out of a group ahead of either Real Madrid or Juventus. We are talking about..........Real Madrid......and......Juventus.

I must agree...I don't think they'll make it out of the group. Juventus has too much to prove after being out of the last couple of CL, and Real, well they're just Real and will make it through the group.

Either way, congrats on the Super Cup.

Group D, G, and our group are the most attractive for me. I'm predicting Atletico to go very far and wouldn't be surprised to see them in the finals, unless they meet us on the way...

You agree with newbie that a well proven team with more trophies in the past year than Atletico has had in the past decade can make it all the way to the final but Zenit can't make it out of the group? That's retarded.

Zenit are a wonderful side and they have just as good a shot of making it out of that group as Real and Juve do.

So if we use your logic, then your second statement is just as retarded as you claim mine to be. You are saying that Zenit who have zero CL experience has just as good of a chance to get out of the group as the most successful club in the competition? And I don't even need to mention Juventus...

As a Madridista, I always cringe at the thought of being drawn with teams from Ukraine, Russia. as Paul said. Travel, weather, etc. I dont care how good you are, youre always an underdog playing over there. This will be very difficult for us but at some point youll have to do it if you win the CL anyway.

What Steaua was saying is that it was retarded to think Atletico would reach the final, much more so than thinking Zenit would go through.
