My first post here:), and before i type anything else, i would like to greet all my fellow Arsenal Supporters.

and finally! the day is almost here, the excitement that the 1st day of the season brings, i dont find it in anything else!

I am truly looking forward to tomarrow's game against the baggies.
Although i am a bit concerned, knowing the number of players that are currently out with injuries.
Fabregas, Rosicky, Diaby, Senderos, Eduardo, Bischoff, Song.. will all be unavailable.
Though we have the Debut of S.Nasri to cheer about.
Lets hope for a good opening weekend:33vff3o:

Djourou has been great his last two games. We have him to thank yesterday for the three points. Maybe he's the tall powerful smart CB we've all been craving? Noo he'll probably **** up in his first game against a team with a decent attack. With that said he should keep starting until he does make a mistake.
Nice finish by Nasri yesterday, that's more composed than Hleb or Rosicky ever are infront of goal.
Any rumors you all have heard recently about who we might sign for DM?

We would have destroyed WB on saturday if Adebayor wasnt so greedy and have his head in his ass. I got nothin but love for Ade but he better PROVE his worth if he demands higher wages. This is ARSENALFC not MoneyHungryBitchesFC.

We're supposed to be close to signing Mikael Silvestre.

I hope this isn't the player he said he would sign before the window closes.
IMO this could be one of two possibilities as to why we signed him(assuming we do).
1.He's simply being bought as a replacement for Hoyte and we'll probably buy another DM.
2.Wenger wants him to compete for a starting position at CB with the likes of Djourou, Song, and Senderos, while he moves Toure or Song up to DM.

I would say number 2 is a frightening prospect, but maybe Wenger sees something in Djourou or Song that tells him they're ready to consistently start this year. I will say though that at this point I do not want to see Silvestre be a regular at CB. There's a reason why Ferguson would sell him to a close rival.

Silvestre is a good guy, doesn't complain and works hard. He had his great moments, its just that he had too many bad moments as well. Beat Leeds for us with a double once.

Liverpool.

And remember that peach of a ball to Wayne Rooney, which Wayne rocketed pass Lehmann? That was a brilliant goal, and Silves' crossing was absolutely inch perfect.

Shocking performance.
If Eboue and Denilson play together in the middle of midfield again in the near future I'll considier turning off my tv or leaving wherever I'm watching the game. Just when Denilson looked like he was improving he puts on one of the worst displays I've seen in an Arsenal shirt. It's harsh, but I mean that. And Eboue, well I never had any expectations for him so I can live with that.

Two critical mistakes made by Wenger as well. First, Gallas should never have been marking that big Fulham defender whose name I'm forgetting. If only we had a big defender who could stay with those types of players on set plays, oh wait Djourou, but Wenger refused to play him. Second, we simply should have a quality DM by now, but instead we buy Silvestre. I'm not saying he'll be a bad signing, but c'mon we need more than Fabregas in midfield.

I'm sure I could think of 2 pages worth of complaints, but I don't want to waste everyones time so I'll leave it at that.

Look I'll support Arsenal through thick and thin, but as a supporter I've got every right to point out a poor performance when I see one. I don't think even the most optimistic supporter could argue that was a positive performance, so there's no obligation for us to react positively. Btw three points does change the title race.

We'll be lucky to avoid the drop this season. The abolition of the Intertoto Cup means no European football for us in the next season.
