We apologize for keeping the yellow too long

So it appears you guys are ready to finalize Tevez' move for a staggering 32 million GBP, to be paid to the company that owns him!!!

A bargain if you ask me.

15 million. The rest is performance-based. Which is better than 32 million up front.

Besides, he has been a beast today against Kaiser Chiefs. Looking sharp. Rooney as well, took his goal well in a 1-on-1 situation. The only reason that he didn't outscore Ronaldo last season was that he was missing too many 1-on-1 chances.

Eagles needs to go. His decision making is simply not there. Martin I'm not too sure about making a judgment on him. Simpson needs to improve his presence and first touch. I'd keep Campbell around because he has real f*cking pace. He just needs to perform when he gets his chance.

And keep a look out for Possebon. Strong and technically brilliant.

I thought Eagles reminds me a lot of Andrei Kanchelkis. Not an excellent crosser, not having an excellent pace as well, but he can do a little bit of everything....

Fernandez

Kanchelskis had pace. Eagles is gash imo. Campbell's goal was because of his miscontrol. He would've featured more last season if Fergie had seen something special in him. He's just in the shop window for clubs to see. Besides, he hasn't bulked up from last season.

I've been impressed by Rodrigo on the occasions I've seen the reserves - thought he did very well today. Tom Cleverly also took his goal well.

As for Fraizer Campbell, I reckon Fergie should take a gamble on this kid - with his pace he's gonna cause teams problems, and we're not exactly overloaded with strikers at the moment.

As for the Tevez "interview" with the Spanish paper - Sir Alex confirmed today that Tevez has not spoken to anyone! Not the first time a united player has been blindsided like that this summer.

Overall much better performance and the goals are starting to come too - bring on the Pompey boys tomorrow night - then it's back to Old Trafford for Ole's testimonial.

Thought the 3rd goal was very cleverly worked :D

I knew somebody would post something like that

Bit of United gossip in the Sunday papers (for a change): Here goes (remember this is probably just paper talk again)

1: United will give up on Berbatov due to the row between Spurs and Fergie, also it appears Spurs will possibly hike the price up as high as £38M (They would prefer him to go elsewhere) Barca, Milan, Real and City are pursuing him. (Other papers say the deal could be done this week though).

2: If that happens, United will pursue Eto'o, Huntelaar, Santa Cruz or Benzema instead. (I hope we go for Benzema)

3: Fergie has told United that Carlos Quieroz would be his choice to take over at United after he retires.

4: Gus Poyet has again emerged as favourite to become Fergie's right hand man.

5: Indications are that Real Madrid have all but given up on Ronaldo, and will attempt to entice Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal and/or David Villa from Valencia instead.

6: United have hired a "minder" for Cristiano Ronaldo - to accompany him on his holidays etc.

And that's it for this Sunday's rumour mill.

i dont think martins and eagles will make the grade at united. Simpson and campbell look the more likely candidates to challenge for a place in the senior team.

Martin has a better chance than Eagles. At 22 Chris Eagles should really have stepped up, he's brilliant in the reserves but with Nani, Giggs, Park, Fletcher and Ronaldo vying for the wings, he's not gonna make it. Lee Martin on the other hand is a couple of years younger and more skillful - I think he'll step up in a year or so.

Danny Simpson looks a good player, I suspect he'll be in the Carling Cup this year along with Fraizer Campbell and Danny Welbeck. As I said above, Fraizer has searing pace and a good finish - pace is always a great asset in the Premiership and I think United should keep him in the squad.

Giggs is on his last legs. Nani will miss the 1st two league games. Park is a doubt. Slave is out until September. Wings should be Giggs and Fletcher.

Help?

Fan Favourite
If we get Berbatov, Ferguson might either put 3 midfielders and 3 forwards on or stick Rooney on the wing, i think.

Fergie is confident Park would be fit for the opening game. Slave is out till October. My guess would be Giggs on the left and Park on the right, or Hargreaves could play there too.

Giggs played very well against Pompey tonight. Good 2-1 win over a semi strong Portsmouth side. The kids did well again, Eagles notched the first and Tevez scored a screamer. Craig Cathcart and Johnny Evans looked comfortable in defence, Gary Neville got 90 mins, Rodrigo came on and looked composed again too. Only slight worry was Fraizer Campbell does tend to favour his right foot too much and he missed a couple of good chances, he could do with bulking up a bit too, he was not at his best tonight.

Fernandez

Team Captain
Campbell did annoyed the f*ck out of those Pompey defenders. It's up to him to challenge himself to be part of this magnificient squad. We do know about his pace, he just needs to bulk up a la Slave and do a job when required.

Daily Star are claiming Thierry Henry might be a target. - I think we need a young up and coming player like Benzema or Huntelaar.
