I also think he will be rather good for the Azzuris......

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long

They're not going to win the WC again, so things can only get worse for Lippi. That makes this a bad decision for him personally......the younger players coming through need to be given their chance, which means he needs be throw loyalty out the window, or else it's going to be France2008 all over again.

Why keep going back to the past....it is over and done with. Move on....

EDIT: I hear that Mancini fellow was available......

But what I wanted to see more from the Italians is young blood coming through. The players that they have currently are getting older and no young talented players are coming through...

Mancini was available but I think the Italian authorities wanted to go with a tried and tested man.....And nobody could be better than a man who has given you a World Cup. Atleast this is what I see.

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
Thank goodness Lippi is back. I think his first task will be to get rid of Italy's trash like Gattuso, Ambrosini and the Mattress and start to bring in young players. He'll get plenty off time to get the young players used to the international stage with the WC 2010 qualifiers and the confederation's cup if Italy decides to send a team there next summer. Donadoni was never gonna succeed with the national team, not enough experience. This is probably also the end of Panucci's international career.

all i will say is welcome back mr. lippi. bringing back a proven leader and winner is a very good thing.

Welcome back Lippi! In my opinion the best option available, anytime! His re-appointment at Juve (2001) turned out to be a success too.

However, 2008-2010 could be a tough time to find a team that could seriously challenge for the World Cup. Especially in defence the options for the future look rather slim. Only Chiellini looks like a major prospect. The rest is not so great... Barzagli, Gamberini, ehm... Maybe Nesta could return. :(
The Azzurri will find a way.

As long as this picture will exist...

I never understood why Italy appointed House, M.D. as their coach in the first place. I mean come on, he's a doctor! He doesn't have any background at all in soccer. They should have hired Kenny Deuchar, at least he's played for Gretna.
