But I'm happy for Sar to win the cup for the second time, 13 years after Vienna. He's only the second person of the Mohikanen who won the CL in 1995 to win the cup for a second time. If there's one person who deserves this cup, it's him.

Surely someone who hasnt won the cup at all would deserve it more:mrt1:

It was a really great final. I feel sorry for Terry and Chelsea, they did a fantastic job and lost the cup like that.:(

I have to say I feel sorry for Terry

Imagine having trained with the club for years since a young boy, becoming captain, then ******* up at the last moment with a slip. There's nothing you can do about it, you feel guilty, was it my fault? it's almost like a cynical joke, call it Karma, bad luck, whatever.

i think it's far worse than scoring an own goal. This will always be in the back of his head. He was a kick from winning the Champions League. It's too much to take.

The only consolation is being in a rich club with a good team he will still have the chance to win it again in the future.

so cruel.

loving that we won, was holding back tears.

but was angry throughout the match. joe cole is a stupid c.unt and a little bitch and talentless, drogba has no class at all, and i am so happy that terry missed because he is an asshole of a character and his pain is my joy.

chelsea fans, money cant buy you love. you guys were lucky not to be down two or three goals at halftime, let alone be drawn level.

but it makes me excited about the battles for next season, bring it on!

You could do with a little class yourself you tart. What a prick.

Just got home fromthe final and I don't care what anyone says, that was a fu<king unbelievable game. You couldn't get a cigerette paper between these two sides, it's that close.

Very dissapointed to lose on penalties of course, but that's the sh1tty rules I guess. Great game with chances and near misses at both ends. I'm not interested in anylizing the ins and outs, or the plusses and minuses of the game, because it's done and over.

I might be dissapointed with the end result, but I'm so proud of my club today. I can honestly state that neither team deserved to lose this match, unfortunately one team did have to lose it, and it just happened to be us.

Thanks to all the decent real fans here and in Moscow, who showed some appreciation towards my team, before and after the game. I met a lot of Mancs in Moscow who do United proud. Sadly there were also a few dickheads too, but as on these forums, the idiots are in the minority thank God.

On to next season then, where things are gonna get even hotter.

Congrats to Manchester United, (Damn, I'm getting sick of typing that sentence), and we'll see you next season my friends.:)

Really interested in seeing who's leaving and who's staying at Chelsea. I still see Chelsea as our many competitor for the title next season. Who will score all the goal with Drogba gone? I think your team is relying on Lampard goals too much.

The strength of Chelsea is the physical strength of the midfield and the back four. Rooney and Tevez did not have a good game, they were marked so tight they often lost the ball once it was passed to them. This is the reason why Park was not named in the team. Against Chelsea he would not be effective. I do wonder what would the result be if Belletti played at right back with Essien in the middle or the right, Joe Cole on the left replacing Malouda.

Crazy guy. Terrible tackle in such an important moment. 2 weeks before Euros.

I wonder what they would say if MU would lost in penalty 'because' of him

But now I'm sure they adore him more for that beautiful header. :)

not a bad cross as well with the left foot of Brown. The double one-two between Scholes and Brown before the cross was great.

The counter-attack started by Rooney was another highlight moment for me. Great match.

Got scared for a minute because had Terry scored, we have lost, thank **** he slip and miss the deciding penalty-kick, also credit to VDS for keeping out Anelka last kick of the match.

I was so nervous half-expecting us to lose the game, but when I saw Terry I did have some hope, after all he is a defender, now an attacking player.

Some people are starting to say he planted his standing foot perhaps a bit too forward or a bit too hard when he took the shot.

To me this penalty is will go down in football history as one of those important misses, just like Baggio's.

By the time Anelka starting walking up, I knew we had a chance. He didn't look confident. Derek Rae mentioned a short run-up is never good and then he missed.

I'm still so excited even though it has been many hours after the game. I still can't believe we've just won the European Cup.

Again, if you will concede guys, that most of you who say it was an unbelievable game were fans of either side then you will know that as a fan you cannot make an unnatached and proper judgement on the quality of a game because all your emotions are ridding on it. For example last season in the final 7 or so games of la Liga Madrid played some of the worst football they have ever played, but we were winning games in injury time and stuff and took the title from Barca....however do you think I thought it was bad football? not at all, to me it will be the best title we have won to date, it was amazing, i loved it all to most neutrals we played like crap and got lucky....I dont deny that the game was tense and emotional, but it was not technically speaking a good football match...It was entretaining, it had drama (I for once did not fall asleep and enjoyed it very much) but it was not particularly well played, save the 20 mins after Ronaldo's goal and a few streches in the second half....

but again it doesnt take away from United's Title nor the great season Chelsea had...very sorry for Terry who aside from the penalty had a monster game and kept the game close until the end with some critical tackles and saves.....well done to both..

I was Bonzi. I went out on Wednesday morning and got back early this morning. I didn't get a chance to see the city which was a shame, but I still had a great time. Not one sign of trouble between the fans, and the police were very friendly and very helpful. I'll definately go back for a longer visit when I win the lottery....hehehehehehee. Seriously though, everything was very expensive out there. I was very surprised at that.

Good thing you didn't hang about in West London last night mate. Anyway. For some reason I cheered rather loudly when Ronaldo missed as I wanted Chelsea to win [just because they'd have half the european cups that Manyoo have]. But when Terry stepped up I actually willed him to miss. In my eyes, the entire match descended into farce because of the handbags, the blame for which I lay solely on the shoulders of Terry. Billed as the game of games and a showcase for the Premier league, and then that. But I feel for Pede and other such travelling fans; definitely crueller for the fans to lose like that.

In other news. Zakov, I've been around SGF for about 2 years now; just because I dont have 700 b/s posts to my name does't I'm a noob. Nor am I a kid.:)

well, thats the only way to judge by the naked eye, but maybe it was foolish of me to make immature assumptions.
sorry, maybe my emotions got the better of me when I posted last night.

in any case, what yer saying about JT is wrong IMO, thats because u've been sucked in by the media which over-promotes JT's tendencies to get near the referee, if anyone was foolish it was Drogba, i sorta of missed that while viewing yer post.

cheers rite

To be honest, it is easier to take losing on penalties than it would be to take losing in normal time. Anyone can win a penalty shoot out. Even a team that plays sh1t for 120 minutes can win it. It means nothing. But to lose within normal time chips away at your pride, and it's there for all to see that your team were second best. That was not the case last night.

AND...if you watch the "handbags" a little more closely, WITHOUT concentrating so hard on what Terry is doing, you will see exactly who it was who was being a <unt, and it was not JT. John Terry saved Rooney and Ferdinand from the refs cards last night during the "handbags" incident, and if you missed that, it does not surprise me one bit mate.

You need to view things more objectively, and try not to let your hang ups influence your way of thinking. A good person needs to rise above such behaviour.

Not trying to start a fight here, but it was JT who instigated the whole damn thing when he went over to Tevez. Tevez was perfectly within his rights to knock the ball away. JT didn't like that so he goes over and has a go. He's a bully, basically. Trust me, I am anything but sucked in by the media. Maybe you need to be more objective and recognise that he looks to bully and intimidate. Like I said, not looking for a fight.

personally, i put the blame on ballack. things get heated in big games, its understandable, and neither terry nor tevez looked like they were doing much more than exchanging (admittedly unfriendly) words. ballack was the third in and f*cked everything up by escalating it.
