CL FINAL(2007-08) [P + R]: Manchester United vs Chelsea

So much to talk about but congratulations to the lads for winning the Double this season, a fitting tribute to the Busby babes.

It was nerve-cracking watching the pen, but I knew that I'd be feeling sadness or relief when John Terry would be taking his penalty. He missed and we when on to win the trophy. Maybe its karma that Terry slipped on the pen just as van der Sar did on Chelsea's first goal but would he be taking the pen had Drogba been on? He's an idiot for getting sent off when he would have surely taken the pen.

Bet you guys are satisfied seeing Ronaldo missing his pen but thats football sometimes. His goals have helped us to this great achievement and he deserves the success he has enjoyed so far. I'm drained.

Goodnight.

btw, surely now we'll finally have a Premiership player winning the World Player of the Year.

Would be criminal to deny Ronaldo this time.

Haha john terry will be remembered for the wrong reaons now!!

f**k off to whether u crawled from, i thought it was fair game to all Utd fans, it was close and either team could win it but u just had to spoil it, man.
JT is down enough, and the last thing we want to hear is an insult towards him.

I don't care how tossers like u remember him, he is OUR captain, if anything, he showed how much he wanted that trophy more than any other player on the pitch. He was our best player with Petr Cech, Riccy and A.Cole, he put his body on the line and almost single handedly stopped Utd from scoring.
U don't see centre-backs take crucial penalties these days, I thought it was brave of him,yet unfortunate for him, it wasn't to be. He will forever remain as a Chelsea legend, even if he scored two own goals, I wouldn't care less, that bloke is Chelsea's favourite son. Seeing him unconsoleable leaving the pitch crying just breaks our hearts. He's experienced this for the second time now after the WC. He'll come back stronger. I'm sure of this.

About Drogba, I don't know what went through his head, but we owe him for getting where we are. thats all there is to it.

congratulations to the Utd supporters. You are now what u wanted to be.
Fair play to yer lot.

hopefully Man Utd fans(the immature ones) and Chelsea haters can continue to bask in Utd's glory and leave us alone. We've lost, we're emotionally down for the time being and we've already accept it.:(

cheers

He wouldn't have been sent off if Terry hadn't make such a big deal with the throw-in that was given back to them.

Some of the comments in this thread are ridiculous. Maybe it's just because i'm a United fan, i dont no, but i thought the match was awesome. I watched it in a bar in nNewcastle full of united fans. Such an emotional night. Cracking start, to the Tevez header and Carrick miss, Chelsea hitting the wood work twice, Terry clearing Giggs' attempt off the line with an awesome last ditch header. Drogba being sent off, then of course the drama of penalties. Thought we'd blown it when Ronaldo was being a dick with his run up, was near the exit of the bar when Terry blew it but maaaan. Then for Anelka to miss. It'll take a lot to forget this night, heres to many more similar. Fair play to chelsea, they were the better team in the second half and first half of ET, thought we edged the rest.

Well said and agreed mate...I really cant believe people are calling it a lame final. This game had almost everything, except for a streaker :D

Fair play to you lot, it was a greatly contested game which could have gone either way...penalties arent always fair but its football.

JT, well he Just Tripped at the crucial time....great player no doubt but I couldnt hold my emotions when he missed it, that felt orgasmic with all due respect !

And then, Van der Star seals it...credit to every player and the whole management team, they worked their socks off and it was a memorable season.

On to the next one.

Congratz to United fans everywhere, especially those reading these forums !

Why do you get to be abusive and I dont? Fascist.

Hans

How big is YOUR penis?
Jesus...

Everytime we gonna win, we just gotta do it the hard way don't we ? I don't think my heart condition can coupe with these kind of ****s anymore...

Oh, ****, I'm still ******* sleepy, it's 5 in the morning here when the match ended, but it's all worth it....

Jesus, I can die in peace tommorow, ****, anyone can run me down with a tank or some ****s and I will have no regrets. This is the best thing that happened to my life... Oooohhhhhhh !!!!!!

I wouldn't trade this for anything man, not even a one night with Jessica Alba with exclusive rights for screwing and doing her all night long...

As for the match, I don't know, you ******* neutrals might see it as boring, but for the two clubs fans involved it was a nail-biting emotional match. It was never boring for me personally, I pretty much awake throughout the whole match regardless the fact that I probably slept for only 4 hours in the last 2 days waiting for the match....

All I remember, it took Rio, Cech, Essien, Terry and 3/4 of the team to save Drogba's ass from oblivion. Slapping Vidic on the face ? WTF are you thinking son ? I think the reff actually saved his ass from Vidic's white on blacks anal rape (Serbian Style) by giving him the red...

And Ronaldo, he might missed the penalty, but God damn it, how can anyone forget the fact that he also scored and burned Joe Cole all over the pitch ? Joe Cole was so burned that in the end of the match he was even blacker than Andy Cole...

Poor JT. I always like and respect the guy, ******* great leader, I feel for him. He looked so stressed out that he looked even older than Grant after the match.

Ashley Cole was a twat as always. Dived for a freaking penalty, didn't he realize that nobody will ever give him a penalty for cheating on such lovely bird like Cheryl ? Plus, I did notice that he constantly scratched and holding his balls, gonorhea ?

Anyway, what a great ******* season. And as for Chelsea, they can go with their heads up high. **** they gave us a ******* hard time.... You know after all the ****s they went through early this season, it's amazing what they have accomplished. JT, Lamps, Drog and Cech have everything to be proud of, and especially Grant, tough he looks like Palpatin and I ******* hate his accent, he has done a great job. Nobody expected him to do ****s like this to United, not even Chelsea's fan....

See ya all ****heads next season...

loving that we won, was holding back tears.

but was angry throughout the match. joe cole is a stupid c.unt and a little bitch and talentless, drogba has no class at all, and i am so happy that terry missed because he is an asshole of a character and his pain is my joy.

chelsea fans, money cant buy you love. you guys were lucky not to be down two or three goals at halftime, let alone be drawn level.

but it makes me excited about the battles for next season, bring it on!

I wonder if being second to take the penalties had much of an impact on Chelsea. At some stage during the shootout, teams in that situation HAVE to score to either save the game or win it and the longer the shootout keeps going the more the pressure builds up no doubt.

And the pitch didn't look bad after all ....

Yeah, I think it just seemed to get worse because it was wet. Any pitch would have been hard to play on with that amount of rain.

****ty pitch cost Chelsea the cup. I must say I do feel a bit sorry for Terry slipping away at a crucial moment. If he hadn't slipped away the ball would've gone in surely.

But I'm happy for Sar to win the cup for the second time, 13 years after Vienna. He's only the second person of the Mohikanen who won the CL in 1995 to win the cup for a second time. If there's one person who deserves this cup, it's him.
