Interview and contacts really!

Although I had an odd one. I got offered a conditional entry to Oxford if I got 40/45 on my IB (according to UCAS tarriff, that's the equivalent of about 4-5 A's at A level) and I got 42 overall, but I got turned down still.

Went to Sheffield instead which is ironically now better than Oxford for my degree, and not full of posh southeners.

Yeah i think its about who you know on top of great grades!

I got to UEA, studying Business Management!

I got into Monash (the second most reputable uni in Melbourne) on my 17th Birthday, what does that equate in the Mother Country's system?

How are you finding it? I'm doing Business Management too, in my first semester at the moment so everything's a bit... vague at the moment.

I wish i'd done business management. Working in retail and attempting to go into management with a ... journalism degree, puts me at a SLIGHT disadvantage :(

yeah, basically my plan for now is to get my degree, go work in the City for a few years, get that Blue Chip company name on my CV and then decide what i want to do from there. Getting a big name company on my CV is a huge HUGE advantage.

Its had its up and downs, i'm sure every degree is the same! Some of it has been really tough, and some of it has seemed ok! I'm in the last semester of Year 3!!! I've got a 62.4% average at the mo, so hopefully will get a 2:1!

Where you studying at? :)

Blooming nora, been a frigging long time since i've seen you around these parts. How are ya man?

Just for the record, I got a 2:1 with an average of 67.6% by the way (H).

... Even if it was from Hallam.

I'm all good mate! Yourself? Yeah i know hant really posted much on here since like 2004 i would think! I make the odd post every now and again though! Seems like its changed quite a bit?!?

haha Hallam is only like 87 in the University Rankings by the Times (H)

67.6% is a good result, any 2:1 or above is! Hense why i don't care if I even got 59.5% rounded up to 60% and a 2:1 :P Don't wanna push it that tight though!!!

a private place in London called Greenwich School of Management. To be honest, it's not the best place in the world to study at (as literally 90% maybe more of my classmates are immigrants and don't really know what they're doing) but in the end a degree's a degree.

Yeah exactly, as long as you study hard/blag it and get the grades :P

I've got lucky to be in the position i am! I have left everything to the last minute, road my luck big style!

Last semester i left 3 assingments to 1 n half weeks before due date, had to do the last one the day before it was in and somehow fluked 72% on it!

Not taking nothing for granted now, not gonna be so last minute this semester!

yeah, i have a really bad habit of leaving everything til the last minute, my time planning is truly horrific. Though luckily so far i've always pulled it through but i know one day it's going to catch me out.
