Damn long way is Sunderland. Seven hour drive home.

Thing I've never gotten is how it can take around 10 hrs to travel from one end of England (not even the UK here) to another. I mean it's such a small country (land size wise). We can go from Toronto to Chicago (US) within 9 hrs and it's a smaller distance and part of the trip includes having to go south then back north. You guys must have a bad highway system or traffic or someat.

Getting out of the City center is the most time consuming part. Once you hit the motorway it's plain sailing usually, minus roadworks and accidents of course, which we seem to encounter on every journey we make here. If I didn't already have 6 points on my drivers licence, I could have shaved a few hours off that travelling time too. Driving in England is not a fun thing at all mate.

Unrelated to the thread but........don;t you ever notice that US highway signs are significantly more difficult to follow (and even the highways themselves) than Canadian? I don;t know about the other provinces west of Ontario but, at Niagara, it seems like a whole new wave has just hit you and you really need to take the time to understand the system. Much easier going from US to CDN(ignoring the French is easy enough).....I've heard numerous people say this.

We've got a big game against Spurs next, its a must win game so that we can keep up the pressure on the two above us, every game from now is a cup tie for us!! we've still got to play Manc Red and le Arse at home, its safe to say, if we win all our remaining games we'll win the title. Also i'm glad we're already done with Liverpool as far as the league is concerned, Arsenal and Utd still have face them and they are looking good, hopefully things will turn in our favour!!

Come on Chels!!

Well considering that every man and his dog had written us off when we were 12 points adrift of the Arse, then we have done pretty well I think.

None of the top 3 at least, can afford to drop any points at all. We know points will be dropped, and all we can hope is that it will not be us that drops them.

The players know what's needed, and this 12 games unbeaten stretch indicates to me that they have the desire to do it too. Not only that, but we have yet to reach our peak this season, and I sense that we are gonna hit it at just the right time.

If we don't make it, then it'll have to be next season. It's as simple as that.

So we start at Spurs tomorrow night. 3 points is what we want, and considering the very recent history between Spurs and ourselves, 3 points are what we'll get. There's a score to be settled here, and I think the guys will be very aware of that.

Will be a big game for Avran.. I can already see the headlines if he gets anything other than a win in such a big game..

What do you think Pede??

he's been under the cosh ever since he took over, but things got silent when we were winning games, and after we lost our 2nd game under him against Arse people started questioning him(then came Spurs & Barnsley), so it doesn't make any difference really what happens at Spurs, the media is still going to put heaps of pressure for him, but i reckon he's used to it by now and won't be bothered.

MaestroZidane....Hi mate. As Zakov said, while we were doing fine the media put all their hate on hold, just waiting to pounce, and pounce they did after the League Cup defeat to Spuds and the Barnsley game. You notice that the media never slaughtered Liverpool as much when Barnsley knocked them out.

The media are so predictable that nothing comes as a surprise anymore. In fact it has become so tedious that nobody really takes any notice of anything that they print any more.

I love the way that Avram deals with it all though. Always calm and always unflappable. The media cannot get to him, he has proven that. In this respect he is a huge dissapointment to the media. They thought they could shake him up but they fail miserably every time.

This guy deserves respect. Not least for the way that he has conducted himself while all around have insulted him in every way that they can. They harp on about his physical appearence. It's not as if Fergie or Wenger are the most attractive men in football, but they never get slagged so personally. Nor do they have the media trying to dig the dirt on their wives either.

You know when the media have lost the battle, when they stoop as low as that. Of course they were hoping that Avram would be a disaster for Chelsea, but that has pleasingly not been the case.

They hounded him even before they knew anything about him, but when you are connected to Chelsea, you expect all the morons out there to dig you out, so it did notcome as a surprise to Avram.

He's a smart guy, and he knew what he was walking into when he took the job. That shows courage, because there were many experienced managers out there who did not have the bottle to come to Chelsea when Jose left.

For all the stick he gets, Avram always remains civilised, polite and philosophical. That really gets up the media's nose and that is an enjoyable thing to see. Much prefereable to the hysteria that Jose would instigate in the same situations.

Avram respects people. He respects other clubs, other managers and other players. That in turn deserves some respect back.

I'm happy have a man of Avram's ilk at Chelsea. As a person, he is a class act. I really hope it all works out for him, he deserves it. If only for the peace and stability that now resides at the Bridge.

Spurs haven't really been playing too well recently and since the Cup win have gone off the boil. It's a good time to be playing them if you're Chelsea...

Thats what we are hoping for too Kramer, but for tonight's game you can expect a real battle. I just hope it doesn't get too nasty. They will try to raise their game against us and if they can't do that then they will either fold or fight. Whatever, I predict it will be a hard game for both sides, although it is Chelsea that are on the up at the moment not Spuds, and that will be the difference.

Well, I'm looking forward to it tonight. 20 minutes by car sure beats the trip to Sunderland and back and thats a fact. See ya later.

ohhh i hate tottenham!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

i said this after carlig cup final and i have this opinion even stronger now!!!! i mean... not that they didnt deserved it... but still... we should have won! best performance definitely by cudicini today... and of course, joe cole, oh man, he was in the mood today :) anyway, it was great game till, i dunno, 90th (?) minute, when that **** keane scored that hell of a beautiful goal... he didnt deserve to score such a goal... im looking forward to sunday, lets hope for one big win :)

cheers ;)

oh $hite, i'm really pissed with the result here, we should've put them out when we were 3-1 up, but they always seemed to come back strongly, a lot of their success came from long balls and set pieces and we had terrible difficulty dealing with it, Utd's winning at Bolton, so it makes our task much more harder than it originally was.........
Tottenham deserved to share the spoils, Cole had a terrific game which once again, I wondered why not leave him on the pitch and replace someone else.......we lost that edge when Avram took out Cole.....
I'm really starting to doubt Avram's capabilities when it comes to dealing with setbacks, he brought on Alex, we conceded then he brought out Sheva who is just back from injury......IMO he should've just kept Cole on the pitch, he was our most dangerous outlet along with Kalou......a crucial two points dropped its no longer in our hands, since we need Utd to drop points now.......

What a game!!.. That Keane goal was amazing. But like Zakov said, What was avran thinking?? taking Joe Cole out, he was a monster on the field.

A game truly worthy of a classic..
