We have Barnsley in the FA Cup today, and I'm just on my way up there. The last time I went to Barnsley with the Chels, Vialli scored 4, so I'm hoping for a good game and a game that we win. It should be a great atmosphere too.

It's live on BBC1 for anyone that can recieve thatr channel.

Well, when the match kicked-off, it was not the same vibe as when we've been playing West Ham and Olympiakos, I think we missed Frank and Didier, we had lions share of possesion but did nothing with it, we only got some half-chances, I have to say I'm very disappointed with the result but Barnsley deserved the win.

They looked like they wanted to win more than us. I honestly don't think Avram's got what it takes to turn a match around from a losing situation, like Jose used to. I'm not going to blame the pitch or anything, just telling that Barnsley did turn us over. They defended as if their lives depended on it. Its just another bad cup day for us.

For all Manc reds and English big four fans who are enjoying our loss, they should be sulking since their team lost as well. If they didn't know that shocks like this were made to happen in the FA Cup, thats maybe because they just started watching English football.
It is the best Cup competition in the world after all.

Now we have to recover quickly since we still have the Champions League and the Premier League to fight for. In the darkest tunnel there's always a small shiny bright light in it. Take the negatives and turn it into positives.

Barnsley for the FA Cup!!!

Heheheheee......As it happens Tracer, I had a brilliant day mate. The result stinks, but I still enjoyed myself. Its about the crack when you go away, as much as the result.

NEGATIVES
Malouda? When are the powers upstairs gonna realise that this fella is fu<king useless? It took me about five minutes to see that he was gonna have another crap game. Against a physical team like Barnsley, you do not put your poofier players in the squad. Where was Alex to look after that 9 feet tall striker they had? Why take Pizarro ANYWHERE? Surely Avram didn't think that Claudio was gonna save the game with a wonderful hatrick did he?

In an FA cup game against a Championship side, you need your toughest guys, and if they have the history of the Cup running through their veins, as do English players, then you really do not want to leave out one of your most influential English players. Lampard.

There is a certain historical mentality that runs deep in British players where the FA Cup is concerned. It seems to me that whether you might be a foreign manager or a foreign player, there is a big chance that you will not know what the FA cup means in this country. It's NOT just another game, it's much, much more than that.

We had players who lived up to that example yesterday, Bridge, Terry, Cole, and Wright-Phillips knew what it would take to turn over Barnsley. Nobody, apart from Malouda, Ballack and perhaps Anelka, played badly at all the game. We played some great football, but with no damned goals. Many misses but no goals.

We were outdone by Barnsley's superior determination to WIN. Not outplayed at all. When Barnsley decided that 1 goal was all they were gonna get from us, they parked the bus. With 11 men inside the penalty box defending their goal, Avram brings on Pizarro???? Where was Drog? Where was Lamps?

Every man and his dog KNEW that if Barnsley grabbed a goal, then they would park the bus. Why wasn't Avram aware of that? Why did he not insist to the boys that we needed a flying start and an early goal, because although we began playing well, it was slow. This gave Barnsley every chance they needed to get in our players faces. Which they did for 93 minutes of total committment. Sure we had the better players, but not the hunger to win that Barnsley had.

It would be nice to see Barnsley lift the Cup now. They deserve it as much as anyone.

don't care to be honest who we're playing. Like Lamps said, what will be, will be.
We're good enough to take on any team. Especially after what happened at Barnsley, the players would be out to prove something.

Hi there Laser. Nice enthusiastic post there man. Welcome.(Y)

As Laser said, great display by us tonight. Although to be honest Derby looked as if they had given up after half an hour. They are relegated and they know it......BUT 4 lovely goals from Frank, 1 from Joe and another from Kalou. Great all round team effort. the pressure from us was relentless the whole game. Having Frank in the team is a must. It's not just the goals, it's his all round game. Not playing him at Barnsley was Avram's big mistake, even if he does insist that Frank was not fit. Ah well.

The Derby fans were giving Frank a hard time until he scored 4. Then they went home I think, 'cos we never heard from them after that. Enjoy the Championship next season lads.

So, we now need 3 points from our game in hand, and that will bring and 2 points behind the Arse.

This season is gonna be a close one, and I'm lovin' it.:D

I think Barsley have given up playing a loooooooooooong time ago..

Gotta feel for the fans who have to watch their team get beat time after time. They are quite possibly the worst team to have ever play in the Prem..

Yup they are indeed. They are also looking to break the record for the worst goal difference in the top division, since Ipswich back in the mid 80's I think it was.

I feel for Paul Jewell though. He's a straight guy. His post match comments reveal that he is indeed going to have a major clearout of players for next season. He also added that Derby have been preparing for life in the Championship even before tonights game. I can see why they have no desire, but as Jewell said, you would think that the players at least showed some pride. They had neither.

Oh yes!! Just what I wanted to see!! I knew we were going to turn up in this game, even if it is again a poor Derby side, Lamps was unstoppable. Ballack got a goal disallowed and Anelka seriously needs a goal to get his confidence back.

Still, we're keeping the pressure on Arse and Manc Utd, lets hope this time we keep this form going for MORE THAN 2 MATCHES.

Yup Fenerbahce. Nice one. If we win this, we then meet Arsenal or Liverpool in the semi's. Love it. We've put Arsenal out before, and if it's Liverpool, well I don't think our players will have any problem getting themselves up for that paticular game. I would think the players would love to draw Liverpool tbh. There's a couple of scores to be settled with the bin dippers. :)

oh well, tough $hit, mate.....we've got Fenerbahce and nothing's going to change that.....what team have u drawn, scousers? :junior: ehhee

We got a hard fought victory over Sunderland, against these relegation fighters I'd pleased that we got all 3 points, its funny that all of my mates were expecting Utd to crush derby by 6-8 goals, but they struggled just like we did......Well 3 of the big four won, Arse play later, so hoping that we get a good result for Boro....

C'MON CHELS!!!

Hey we had to play Barcelona in the CL knockouts 2 yrs in a row and everyone knows that Man U usually get an easy group stage (although it's been Arsenal of late) so if you're trying to imply a conspiracy then don't point at us. And if you're manager's truly the CL specialist they say then Man U, a so-so CL side shouldn't be hard to beat should they?

3 pts within 1st and possibly over Arsenal as well, could be great and what's all these reports about Grant getting the sack at the end of the season? I was expecting to hear them eventually.

Only until the final man. :)

Damn long way is Sunderland. Seven hour drive home.

Tough game as expected against Sunderland, but we got the points and thats what matters. It wasn't a bad game from our point of view. The boys did well, but Sunderland were persistant and adventurous too.

Great to see JT score again after so long, but did not like the rather defensive tactics we employed as the game wore on. Sunderland came at us and it was a close thing that this game could have ended as a draw.

With our defence, perhaps its seen as a good tactic, but it only takes a stray shot to bounce around and go in the net and your'e fu<ked. I'd prefer to keep the pressure on the other team personally. Anything else is too tense for me. Thank God Carlo is our No2. He was great.

Anyway, This result coupled with Arsenal's dropped 2 points puts us right in there. If we can get 3 points from our game in hand, and beat Man U and Arsenal at the Bridge, we can do this.:rockman:

Nettles, according to the media we were meant to have imploded 2 years ago. I think it's best to ignore EVERYTHING printed about us. When Chelsea confirm anything, then that's the time to talk about it. Media rumour mongering is best ignored mate.
