I've been playing Vice City and Vice City Stories in the past few days. I REALLY want this to come out right now :(.

By the way, I've decided I'm gonna ignore my Sony fanboyism and buy a 360, it's obviously the better product or else it wouldn't be totally outselling Sony every freakin' quarter. I've also heard from some friends of mine that they have a hard time finding people to play online with even for games like Guitar Hero 3 :|

Just make sure you get some extra replacement insurance if you buy your 360 at one of the big box stores.. or just make sure they have a no-questions-asked return policy (I'm pretty sure Costco does)

I was thinking of getting one before too but got totally turned off by all the horror stories I was reading on Xbox360 forums. All kinds of issues about overheating, the 360 actually damaging discs, and the dreaded hardware failure that apparently is a lot more common than microsoft claims. I remember reading about some people being on their 6th or 7th replacement 360 in a single year!

I remember reading an article a few weeks ago where some developer guy was saying that 2008 is going to be the year of the PS3 and Wii. As of right now the Xbox360 has a lot more and better games than the other systems, but the reason for that is because the Xbox system was already familiar to software developers, while the PS3 and Wii brought something totally different so game companies have been slow in coming out with stuff that really uses those two consoles to their full potential. This is supposed to start changing in 2008.. and it makes sense when you think about it, like remember how crap the early PS2 games were compared to some of the most recent one's like the latest Grand Turismo?

Another example, Super Mario Galaxy which is argueably the best game graphically on the Wii only uses like 1/6th of the consoles power. It's crazy to think what the PS3 will be able to do in time..

My guess is that MAYBE this happens to some ******* nerds who play it every day for hours at a time...

I've never had anything happen, but I play it maybe once every 2-3 weeks.

Well..its an electronic equipment after all, so there can be several reasons, but I guess continuous usage for many hours is something it should have eben designed for, its supposed to be used like that!

The first generation of 360's that came out was horribly flawed however, the second gen and up which is what most stores have now have no such overheating problems.....but the best insurance policy you can buy for a 360 is called an intercooler, cost about 20 bucks in the US and it will save you a million headaches should they ever pop up...just ask about it when you buy the 360

There have been many reported cases of them melting on to the 360. And if that happens then there goes your MS warranty.

Never had any problems with my Elite, it's nice and quiet too compared to my stepbrothers year-old premium. :)

So I was gonna get myself the AppleTV and then I realized that I can do the same exact thing with my 360 and Windows Media Player...

I set everything up and I can stream my entire music and video library to my TV... It's working great (Y)
