Manager mode randomly crashes

Hey guys, I'm sorry about this because I know you get a lot of these 'generic' kind of problems.. but I can't figure this out. I had a career going with Bayern, it was fine until one game where, after the sponsor money collected screen, FIFA would just crash and exit and give an error message. I tried starting a new career - it was working okay, but about halfway through the season I randomly got the same problem. My FIFA 08 is a genuine copy with no patching or editing done whatsoever, apart from the installation of the official EA Roster Update patch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

If you like, ZIP up your manager mode data files, FIFA.DB and ENG.DB and send them to me via email (click on my name in the left hand pane of this message and select the 'send email' option) and I'll run them through EAFFAnalyser and see it if spots any problems (no guarantees - I've had crashing data files that looked perfectly kosher). I may not be able to solve the problem (since editing saved data files is currently not possible for FIFA 08), but I might be able to figure out enough about it to enable you to avoid it in the future.

Files received, although I've not had a chance to process them yet. However, I did load the Sydney one into FIFA 08 and was able to quick sim several games. Does the problem only happen for you when you actually play the matches??

I have a similar problem. I would say it is an 'intermittant' crash when playing in manager mode but is 'consistant' once it appears.

Symptoms - after playing a game, or simming one, the game crashes back to windows. When does it happen exactly? After the game you get the match facts, then advance - the game starts to go through the training/transfer bits - crash.

I have worked out that it is something to do with the training in my calendar. I have scheduled some training to occur after the game, before the next game.

If I get rid of the training, then after the game it proceeds OK.

Unfortunately I don't have the saved game anymore because as soon as I got past it, I saved over the top. But this is the 2nd Manager game where I have had this problem so it may pop up again.

That is certainly a different manifestation to the one that MC Kola was getting, which seemed to be related to getting fired (it was possible to complete games as long as you kept winning, but the minute job security dropped low enough the game would crash after the post-game budget screen. However, I was unable to reproduce the situation in newly created careers, where I could get fired without causing a crash, and MC Kola's career was only about nine games old so I really don't understand what the trigger is here)
