Alright my match analysis
Casilla- Iker had a couple of botched moments including that one towards the end that almost cost us the game. He makes the killer save here and there but sometimes, like today....well its kind of scary
Canna/Ramos- The best pair of the game. Cannavaro had a couple of important interventions, and Ramos fighting till the end as usual.I love the kid great courage. They were solid for the most part
Salgado-WTF Schuster!!! WTF!....this guys is for Real Madrid's C's practice squad. Not only did he not defend well, but he gave away balls, lost balls, was owned by anybody that decided to go down the right. Hit the ball with his hands, should have been thrown out for dangerous play...GET THIS GUY OUT OF MADRID!. He should NEVER EVER play again this year...He set the tone for the game; I believe his shody performance set the standard for the rest of the team from early on....
Marcelo- IMO was ok. He is still young and learning and it was noticeable in a couple of plays here and there. But I think his future is quite bright. He provides speed down the flank which Heinze doesnt. But for a game like today I would have preferred Heinze. Good job thought
Diarrah-For his defense we must remember that he is undergoing the ordeal of the holy month of ramadan. He cannot eat and or drink xcept a little bit...so He is weaker than normal. A lot of what makes him good is his physicality. However he only compounded to the hot potato syndrome which we suffered...so...not cool
Robihno/Higuain/Robben- I am grouping all these guys together cause IMO they played the same type of game, with a little edge for Robihno, who played a better first half. Had some nice touches here and there a nice intervention here and there. but ultimately they all messed up by either not passing, giving the ball away or just dissapearing from the game at times...
Guti-Well....he needs Sneijder that is the good news....the bad news is that obviously we can't control the ball without our wonderkid...man did we miss him?!. Guti did have that great pass to set up the goal, but that is the Guti I dont want to see. 89 minutes of mediocre and 1 minute of brilliance...I rather see the Guti of the first two games...
Raul-The man fought as he always does. I believe he played fairly well considering the circumstances.
RVN-I think He fought. I saw him trail players all the way to our area and he generally tried to get himself involved... Rudd is what they call a Cherry picker, he is not a playmaker, so for him to be chasing balls down the field is both remarkable and sad. Sad because that means he wasnt getting Carlos by sitting up there...that is bad for the team, he shouldnt have to be chasing balls down.
Saviola-He is in he scores.....that's it! that's why he is here
Drenthe-Yeah....so he's not worth what we paid...well that is a risk we took. He too is young, but he has heart and that is big part of the picture...As he gains experience he should imrove at least I hope
What a horrible game...and yet still we could have won, had Higuain taken his vitamins, or had the Valladolid keeper not been so attentive...that is both good and bad. If we cannot find that fast counterattacking style without Sneijder then we might as well forget about the Copa del Rey, since I dont foresee Sneijder getting a lot of minutes there....I hope that this is as bad as it gets, and if it is, then it is encouraging. If playing poorly we snatched a tie out of defeat playing away, then better things will come... I score it: D+
