The Superliga (Mexico - USA) 2007!!!

but is not the players fault that he accidentally gained an advantage. the advantage is the result of an unintentional handball or accident. now if the player had done it on purpose like Messi or Aguero then I would call it an advantage and more than that call it cheating. i am not being bias this play reminds me of the one in Mexico vs u.s (1st friendly) were Donovan took advantage of the rebound that came of the ref when Pardo tried to pass to the side. to me this is exactly the same instance except this time it is an accidental and unintentional hand instead of the body of a referee....

How is that the same? the ref i believe by law is part of the field and technically you could legally play the ball of him on purpose.

It doesn't matter if was an accident or on purpose he gained a clear advantage( it couldn't have been more of an advantage unless he actually put the ball in the net with his hand)

DC United 1 -1 Morelia

Bad result for DC, they had one more player one the field, and are in mid mls season, but still couldn't take out a pre-season morelia. It will only get harder from here on, they need to work on that finishing if they want to get somewhere.

At the end, the morelia players seriously looked like they were about to fall face-first on the field. :\

Anyone realized that D.C. United will be playing the Copa Sudamericana, same with Chivas, Pachuca and another mexican side, i think it is Tigres. So i guess these sides will have to pick one in my opinion.

Dynamo dominated from start to finish tonight. Seriously, Club America looked like a bad MLS team tonight.

In other news...somewhat related to this..U-20 USA player Sal Zizzo will not be playing in the MLS as he signed with Hannover today. He'll join Cherundolo....

either way, ref did the correct thing and let the goal count, which in the end is all that matters, lol....

Would you just shut up already? You don't have a clue what the correct "thing" is, just an undeniable love for Mexico. I've refereed for years and the reason that was not called a handball was because the referee was in a bad position and his view of the incident was blocked or he just missed it. Having watched the game live, I was shocked that they did not call that a handball... but then again, not really because refereeing has lost all credibility after the World Cup (2006). When a player's arm is extended out from his body like that, it will get called 100% of the time, unless the referee is incompetent, which was the case in that game.

shut up. i dont think so this is a forum and i am simply expressing my opinion. so please act more mature then trying to shut somebody up. GOLAZO de la Mona Olvera, lol....

Results for today.

FC Dallas 1 - 1 Pachuca.

Pachuca seemed terribly out of shape, definitely not the same team that won all those championships. Maybe they just had alittle too much time on vacation because their rythm is completely gone.

Galaxy 1 - 2 Chivas.

A half-gas chivas ran over the galaxy, enough said. Arellano looked good, but still needs to work hard on that finish, I don't even remeber how many he missed. Nava looked excellent for a 16 year old kid, I can definitely see him starting at some point during the upcoming Mexican League. Would love to see more of him against Pachuca.

All of our NT players looked in good form coming back also.

For me MoM: was el Capi Ramoncito Morales. Nava is actually 17 but yeah seems like a good propect, kind of a mix of Ramoncito and Guardado, hopefully he can reach that potential...

I didn't see that first game but I watched the second. Chivas were definitely the better team and they were basically playing a home match but they didn't exactly run anybody over, I mean it was only 2-1...Still the Galaxy were dominated for large parts of the game and if there's anything that this tournament is revealing more and more of, it's just how horrible their forwards are.

Was the team Chivas used tonight closer to their actual squad?

yeah pretty much their squad, except for Bravo who came is a as sub and Medina who is injured. but still i'd say they played ok considering they are still coming out of pre-season and some from vacations....

Thanks for the quick answer. The experience definitely showed in the second half. That midfield press was breaking every Galaxy possession, fun to watch.

DC United - Club America 1-0
Houston Dynamo - Morelia 1-1

America are eliminated and Morelia needs a win and some help in the goals department if they are to make it out of the group. One American team is guaranteed to make it through though so it we'll have at least 1 representative in the last 4, and something tells me the Galaxy will make it tomorrow. Speaking of the Galaxy, so far Joe Cannon has to be MVP of this tournament, he has been freaking amazing.

LA and FCD combine for 11 ******* goals. BTW did anybody catch Landon's little throat slash while lipping "It's over"...shows you that dbag true character. What a f'in tool.
