Good call on Shay Given. I am surprised one of the big four didnt grab him a long time ago, he is an incredible goalkeeper.

It is not that Van Der Sar is better than he was in 200. It his the team he is playing with that is actually better.

Van der Sar gets beaten too easily by shots from outside the area.

He's still the best keeper United have had since Peter Schmeichel and a big reason for the success this season.

No doubt about it, if it weren't for him we would've lost and the team would've been left mentally destroyed on Saturday, i'm just pointing out that he's not good when it comes to stopping most shots that comes from outside the area, for a goalkeeper of his size this is surprising. I'm almost shitting bricks when a forward takes on Gary Neville, because you just know what happens after, the forward cuts inside the middle and takes a shot and it only has to be on target.

To be fair to him, I would also put this down to Nike and their inability to make decent footballs (that favour the outfield player), and because of that, now every week so many crap players with no technique can score goals that look half decent.

Those are 5 that stand out in my mind. I think they are a class above the rest.

I agree but Buffon is better than kahn and some other good goal keepers are :
PEPE REINA, Jens Lehmann, Andreas Isaksson, victor valdes and Shay Given are all good Goalkeepers, Dont reall know the orders tho can work it out yourself cant you :)

I don't know, but without Casillas Real Madrid wouldn't even reach the 4th spot them lucky f*cks.:boohoo:

If you would have asked this 2 years ago, I would have defenetly said DIDA...

I don't understand Reina getting put into anyones list. A keeper needs to be reliable first of all. That is why Edwin Van der Sar is so highly rated for me, he has this air of security that I don't think anyone else in the world has at the moment. He may not be incredibly agile in long distance shots, but he can still move very well and he makes a lot of gamechanging saves, and makes them look easy. Add to that the fact that his hands are near-magnetic and that he organizes a defense incredibly well, and you have a top keeper.
