Apparently even Beckenbauer wasn't told about this until after the decision was taken. Hitzfeld was approached today and offered the job, as soon as he said yes Felix Magath was given the flick.

If it was a long term thing it might be justified but Hitzfeld has already said he wouldn't be interested in staying with the team beyond the current season, and with what little he's got to work with I think it's already too little too late to salvage anything from the season other than a CL spot, I don't know why they wouldn't even trust Magath to do that.

As far as I'm concerned it is Uli Hoeness rather than Magath who is the biggest person to blame for Bayern's desperate state. The 7th richest club in the world should not have to crumble to its knees just because a few players decide to retire or walk from the club.

Nothing is going to change until they commit some serious money into bringing in a few big name players and also invest in a high profile coach who will be able to tempt those players into moving to Bayern.

with bayern's money and the £25mill from the hargreaves transfer i can't see why bayern shouldn't move again to the top of the tables..hitzsfeld is probably the mos suited man for the spot really..

BTW Hitzfeld's been confirmed as the new manager.

He really does love taking pictures of himself, doesn't he?

Sorry, you are a bit late, Salihamidzic is already joining Juventus next season for free.

BTW, how are you replacing central midfielders with wingers? :o

Yep, doesn't matter anyway as he's not worth too much anymore.

He usually played as a right or left winger in the past, Demichelis at DM.
