11 points behind the leaders from 10 games...28 left for the season...there is still hope
so far our inconsistency has returned as of the beginning of last season, than a wonderful series of events led to a great streak of wins and clean sheets. That is what we all must hope for if we are going to become title challengers once again. as gerrard has stated the title challenge isnt over.
next we have bordeaux at anfield then Reading, Birmingham and Arsenal and many others.
that is we have 11 games in 40 days!(before our first 7 day break in a while) this is where Benitezs rotation policy will be most effective as we will see other squads slump due to tireness
otherwise well played by liverpool against villa, a clean sheet wouldve been nice though whereas nice win to get us back on track

Race for the title over imo.... poor performance!!! Mark Gonzalez was the worse player on the pitch..while Gerrard was very disappointing... almost invisible in the 2nd half!!! Only Xabi Alonso was good imo...while Crouch and Kuyt were working hard but didn't received any good delivery!!! Poor Poor Poor performance...i am really deceived..expected much much more :(

I think Gerrard shud play central mid in the absence of Momo... with 2 true wingers! Pennant and maybe Riise or Gonzalez(if he plays better!!!). Our central midfield atm is not very good!!! before we had our joker sub Hamann but he's nomore here and noone seems to be able to do the job he was doing when he comes in as a sub!! :(

It was a terrible performance today. I still feel uncomfortable with Reina in goal, he doesn't have a command on his area. I can't, personally, put my finger on what we are missing at the moment but it needs to be sorted soon or this season will go very Gerard Houiller, very quickly :kader:

The away woes continue. Seems we played a lil' better this time. Rafa claims we would have won 99 out of 100 games playing like we did.

We created about 4 clear chances, Kuyt hit wide (probly would have scored if on target), Pennant turn and shot, Agger long shot which forced a brilliant save and a Crouch header that got cleared off the line by Woodgate. Really not enough chances for the amount of time we had the ball for same old story really if we're only going to create that few chances we need to atleast be clinical. Defense looked very, very shaky at times aswell. If Yakabu didn't air kick we would have lost also... we need an away win soon if just for the confidence I think thats the difference between our home and away form.

Liverpool lack a real preditor up front a big club like liverpool need a striker who will net 20+ a season and the others can pick up the scraps. i think Banitez made a mistake in August becuse Kyut isn't going to score too many goals nither is Bellamy. he better not make the same mistake in January they need big guns up front.
