Please note that the other two polls are still open for another day - the reason I am making this early is because I will be away for a week starting tomorrow

You can view previous results and impending fixtures by checking this thead.

Voting is now open for the eighth (and seventh, see other thread) pairing of the first knockout round of the SG's favourite actor competition.

All members with more than 100 posts are invited to vote in the poll above for their favourite of the two actors who go head to head in this round. The actor with the most votes, excluding those from members with under 100 posts, at the time when the poll closes, in three days, will go through to the quarter finals. Once these two pairings have closed, the next two will be opened and so on until all eight quarter final places have been filled.

Christopher Walken is a prolific and blisteringly good actor which numerous great, and quirky, performances. Brad Pitt is a star of our generation with some superb roles in many great movies. You are encouraged to vote for your favourite even if you are not totally convinced he is the best.

Now, get voting, and feel free to post who you went for and why.

Im going with Brad. I love Walken everytime he´s on screen but he's pretty much playing the same character over and over again (same as Morgan Freeman, but Freeman is a better overall actor). Brad Pitt has been in so many great movies I like giving great performances always. He hasnt done many heavy dramas but he doesnt need to IMO. He does have Inarritu´s Babel coming out this year and the movie is going for the Oscar so maybe he´ll get good critical dramatic praise for it (Y)

Walken for me, by a long way. I love him in almost everything he's in, and he can often lift ****e films into being really pretty good. I consider Pitt to be very mediocre, some good films but not as many as people think, and he is never the best thing in them (outshone by Norton in Fight Club, Freeman and Spacey in Se7en, Del Toro in Snatch etc).
