Voting is now open for the second (and first, see other thread) pairing of the first knockout round of the SG's favourite actor competition.

All members with more than 100 posts are invited to vote in the poll above for their favourite of the two actors who go head to head in this round. The actor with the most votes, excluding those from members with under 100 posts, at the time when the poll closes, in three days, will go through to the quarter finals. Once these two pairings have closed, the next two will be opened and so on until all eight quarter final places have been filled.

Johnny Depp has been in many of the best films of our generation, with a staggering volume and consistancy of quality work and an oscar nomination. Keanu Reeves is famous for his performances in the very popular Matrix trilogy and has also enjoyed a varied and quality career outside of these films. You are encouraged to vote for your favourite even if you are not totally convinced he is the best.

Now, get voting, and feel free to post who you went for and why.

Johnny Depp. One of the best actors of all time. Too bad he´s just getting recognition these last few years because of the Pirate movies (Y)(Y) I really like Keanu, Matrix or not, but there´s no way we can compare them

Yeah, this is an obvious one, Depp by a long way. I'm glad Reeves came up against top opposition, I'd hate to see him go further.

:rolleyes: He was horrible in that movie. and the next one, and the next one. Cool special effects, Fishbourne is still cool but I just found Reeves annoying. I personally didn't think the Matrix was awesome. Good movies, but nothing earth shattering about them.

Reeves :kader: He's fun , but I wouldn't consider him a "good" actor in the way I consider Depp to be so. I'm not discarting Bill and Ted, as they are most excellent movies. Totally righteous. But on a fully different scale of righteousness is where you'll totally find Mr. Depp. Dude.

Keanu Reeves isn't a bad actor. He's quite good. He just isn't anywhere near as good as Johnny Depp. I'd be happy if I made a film with him in it. And the Matrix was fantastic, and he was great in it, as Reeves is as Superman.
